it was good to have but maybe there was a reason why the shape didnt match? we had to grid it off. Some people do not have a grinder tool. that can be a problem. if it does not get grinded off, it will get caught on something and break off.
i put a little liquid nail on it. because i didnt trust the" iron on" effect. it seemed to work well. the "iron on" glue left a nice finish on the edge.

We purchased 2-10’ countertops on closeout and needed 3 cap kits. Price of kits cost as much as the countertops but they were worth it. Used a close end router bit with a bearing to trim. Forget the file method! Threw away the particle board for the kit except backsplash piece and used 1”x2” pine and glued and nailed with Paslode.

Iron On Endcap Kit for Counters
There's a fair amount of excess material. Get ready to file and sand for a while. Eventually it turned out nice. I got tired of all the filing and sanding by hand and switched to a palm sander to remove all the extra overhang. There was one spot near the nose edge that I got some chatter and a small bit of it chipped off. Since the Typhoon Ice pattern is modeled after real granite it wasn't a big deal, I just got some of my artist paints and touched it up, you can't see anything wrong unless I point to it and you stare at it. Lesson is... be patient and take your time removing the excess material and it will turn out great.
Mind the bottom edge as well, you want to grind it down flush also or you will have a sharp edge that could harm you if you moved your fingers along that edge in a certain way, just saying it could happen.

This edge kit (actually 25 3/16") is short of the actual Counter profile(25 5/16") . Thus it does not fit and if installed correctly leaves a 1/8" gap very visible at the end.
I would request a replacement, but it seems like a manufacturing issue with both the endcap (1/16" too short) and the counter width(1/16" too long due to misalignment of backsplash). So i either leave a 1/8" gap in the back or front, either of which is not great. I'll cannibalize the other endcap to carve a new end piece to make it work.
I think Hampton Bay needs to work on quality control a bit.

These were easy to install & they look great. The only reason I gave 4 *'s is they have to be filled down to match the lines of the counter tops.

The profile of the endcap does not align very accurately with the cross section of the countertop. I carefully cut the counter flush and even sanded it smooth. Also carefully aligned the strips of MDF blocking that come with the kit to create a solid full depth surface for the end caps. But the profiles were off by as much as an eighth of an inch and there is considerable material extending beyond the edges. I used a hobby iron (Coverite Black Beauty) which has better heat control than a clothes iron, to melt the adhesive, which bonded well with continuous pressure and patience. Even once I file down the mismatched edges, it is not going to look great. I expected better from a $20 kit.
I was also disappointed with how badly the mitered counter sections went together. Carefully followed the directions but again, the profiles would not align accurately. Hampton Bay could do a better job of quality control. This is a simple material -- it should not be that hard.

No. It was the wrong pattern.
Had to do install. No time to return.
Who ever pulled the order didn’t check it.
