Unfortunately we had to use a tap and die tool set to get the blades to the fan attached. And because of the new energy saving bulb, the light is not bright enough. This fan was installed in the kitchen where I need bright light. The fan is quite a disappointment.

We are sorry to hear that you had this issue. In general, we suggest using a ceiling fan light as a supplemental light source used in conjunction with other lighting like lamps or recessed cans. The included bulb can be replaced with a higher wattage equivalent LED bulb (75 or 100-watt equivalent) for increased light output. In general, if there are any issues with the fan, we suggest calling Hampton Bay customer service at 1-855-HD-HAMPTON (1-855-434-2678). In most cases, issues can be resolved over the phone with some minor troubleshooting.

The light bulb included is terrible. Too dim. Will have to get someone to change it as it is too high for us to do it being seniors. The fan is great though.

Transmitter has gone out twice within a year .
This fan is beautiful but a headache. The transmitter already went out twice and I have only had the fans for 1 year. I have 2 of them and they go out same time.
Not value for your money by any means.

Remote control settings
We were preparing to return this fan because the light did not work and the fan would only run on low. My son checked the remote settings and compared with the control unit when we took it down from the ceiling. The remote setting had changed on the remote so it no longer matched the control unit. We are not sure what happened, but it appears the battery moved one small switch from down to up. He said he had dropped the remote and maybe it happened then. So I recommend all switches be set to up.

noisy and features stopped working
The remote doesnt work so light wont come on and fan set at medium speed. It’s also making a creaking sound. In order to return it, I have to pay an electrician to take it down and then pay to have another installed!

I really like this fan. Quality control is not the best, though. I bought two this time and one several years ago. I haven't installed the last one yet, but...the blade mounts on both of the ones I have installed needed the threads chased with a tap (#10-24). I also put in an LED conversion for the light because the way they positioned the light socket, it doesn't put out light evenly...but otherwise I love them.

The fan would stop for now reason and the light would just come on and turn off by itself. Wasn’t happy with this purchase.

We are sorry to hear that you had this issue. It sounds like the remote is receiving an interfering signal from another device in the area. This can be easily resolved by changing the dip switch settings in the remote and receiver. The dip switches are located in the battery compartment of the remote and on the receiver. The dip switches can be set to any unique setting as long as the settings in the remote and receiver match. Changing the dip switch settings will change the frequency of the remote to avoid the interfering signal. In general, if there is ever a problem with the fan, we suggest calling Hampton Bay customer service at 1-855-HD-HAMPTON (1-855-434-2678) and one of the team members will be able to get more information to help troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

So far so good!!

The included bulb can be replaced with a brighter bulb as long as the actual wattage does not exceed 60 watts and the shape does not exceed the A19 shape.
