Perfect for a light load
I'm using the clips to temporarily hold an 18 foot circular vinyl tarp in place while replacing an above ground pool. The clips were placed prior to removing the old pool. The clips held strong while testing with a reasonable amount of tugging as shown in the picture. For situations that involve wind gusts or the weight of water, definitely go with grommets instead. BTW, I would have gone with a grommets, but Home Depot didn't have much in the way of stock.

Great clips
I used these clips on a tarp to cover my wood wagon. I weighted the clips down with a small peace of firewood nailed to a string with the clips attached. Easy to move them around....

Clipping the Cover
Got this to hold grill cover since strap broke. Works fine in holding cover in place but find it difficult to use due to limit on opening teeth and sometimes difficult to get release lock
