tough call on recommendation
We purchased two of these fans. We had them both professional installed by a master electrician. Neither fan worked with the switches provided in the box. The fan only worked when the switch was on the lowest speed (but it ran at high speed). When we attempted to adjust the speed with the switch the fan stopped. We don't know if the switch are bad or the fans are bad. Very frustrating that we are spending more $$$$ trying to get these fans to work.

We are sorry to hear that you had this issue. The speeds of the fan are as follows: 1 - high, 2 - medium, 3 - low. It would be rare for both switches for both fans to be bad at the same time. Please confirm that each fan was installed with its own switch. If 2 fans are connected to one switch, the switch will be overloaded and not function properly. The master electrician should be aware of this. The fan motor runs quiet and the blades move a lot of air! Also, if you put the unit on a three speed wall switch, you can get a wider variety of speeds using the on-board motor speed control (the chain control connected to the motor). Fast speed on both the on-board motor control and the three-way switch is way to fast! But there are a lot of options with these two controllers in series.

Our new Altura 60 ceiling fan is perfect in our Great Room, looks stunning and really moves the air. It's totally quiet and adds so much pazza to the room.

Love the fan and we purchased the light kit as well. My complaint is that the remote does not have a dimmable feature on the light.

Thank you for your question. The 60" version of the Altura fan has a wall control. If you installed the light kit on the 56 or 68" versions, those fans have a remote that does include a dimming feature. If using the dimming feature, the bulbs included with the light kit will need to be replaced with dimmable bulbs. To dim the lights using the remote, press and hold the light button on the remote. While holding the light button, the light should cycle through its brightness settings. Release the button once the desired brightness level is reached.

I have put together hundreds of ceiling fans and this was definitely the easiest fan I ever put together. Kudos to the designer who went back to the old way . Keep it simple stupid.

Love these fans we’ve installed them in the last 4 homes we’ve had. Fan blades are excellent as they look like wood but are some type of plastic for being outdoor rated.

This is my second 60 inch Altra fan. The first one purchased earlier had a remote to adjust the fun speed and to turn it on and off. I am VERY disappointed that the new fan does not have a remote, rather it came with a wall

We apologize for any confusion regarding the Altura family of fans. The 60" Altura is an outdoor, wet rated fan and has always included a wall control. The 60" Altura has never included a remote control because the remote is not outdoor rated. The only Altura fans to include a remote are the 56" and 68" Altura fans - both of those fans are indoor only fans and include a remote control.

The fan arrived on time and undamaged. The installation was a bit fussy, but I expected that since I already have one like it. I threw out the cheap switch that came with it (as I did with the first one) and replaced it with a Lutron Caseta programmable switch. The fan looks great and works well.

It's ok
Really nice visual look, very quiet, but disappointed in "air circulation" on higher speeds, for a 60-inch blade product, but will work with additional floor fan.

Not for a two or more fan installation!
We purchased two of these for our patio. Unfortunately the fan must be wired with the included wall switch. The included wall switch can only handle one fan on the circuit, not two. It's disappointing that there are no manual control switches and one must use the included wall switch. Looks like we will be returning.

We are sorry to hear that you feel this way about the fan. The included wall control is designed to control one fan. If you need to control multiple fans with one switch, you will need a commercial grade switch.

Slow
I have two of these fans. One is fine and fast. The other is stuck on slow
This second fan is to slow. I called the company. And they wanted to sell me a new capacitor for $20.
I said nope. No thank you!

We are sorry to hear that you are having this issue. It seems like a capacitor would be the only resolution. Depending on the age of the fan, this part should be covered under warranty.

Great air movement
I noticed several reviews with “poor air movement” these seem to be all outdoor patio mounted. My fan is installed in our family room, 18x18 with 14’ vaulted ceiling. This fan has tremendous air flow, even on the slowest speed. Mounting is the same as any fan, we chose not to include a light. If you have a big room with high ceilings this is the fan for you, owned for 3 years and still love it in Arizona

Cheap Downgrade
We had this same model fan in our home since it was built in 2007. We LOVED it! Unfortunately after almost 15 years of CONSTANT use in our living room, the motor went out. We decided to replace it with the same model. I did NOT realize the fan blades are NOW PLASTIC!! They say ABS, but that's just code for plastic. It does not have the same look and feel of the natural wood. This is sooo disappointing. Not sure if we'll be returning it or not.

Thank you for your review. The 60" version has always had ABS blades because it is an outdoor/wet rated fan. The 56", and 68" versions are indoor rated and have carved wood blades.

We love this fan! We had installed 2 of them in our house in Texas and loved them so much that we just put 3 in our house in Mississippi! They are quiet and they put out a lot of air! I also think they are very stylish!
