I bought 3 as Christmas presents for my brother and sisters. They were very excited to receive them. Got there before I could send a card with them! Should have asked if I could have changed recipient name for mailing but luckily they all made it without a hitch. Now I just need to myself one!

This is a really beautiful light fixture. The portable lateen feature is a great bonus.

looks good and has good lighting

I bought a pair for outside my condo building. We are glad they are LED so we won't have to replace bulbs anymore. Can't imagine the 'lantern' mode will get much use in our setting, but you never know - it might be just the thing in an emergency. They look attractive and substantial.

The fact that it's easy to install and lightweight and can be use as a lantern. The standout characteristic is it's very bright and illuminates a large area.

Just installed these lanterns . . . great look and love the automatic off and on and portable feature!

Great multifunctional light adding a unique option. I hope this will lead to future types; I would really like to have an indoor lighting option with this detachable function having lived in both hurricane and tornado regions where we experience frequent power outages. Great Item!

Just love the versatility of this light! Can't wait until summer, I installed this on house wall on the deck.

Okay, I wanted to use this in a somewhat unusual way. I wanted to put it on an RV, thinking that the removable portable lantern could come in very handy while ‘camping’ in the RV. Good idea but not quite perfect. I was thinking that removing the lantern would dramatically reduce the side profile of the outdoor light—very useful and important while driving the RV. Unfortunately, the base of the wall mount remains protruding, possibly causing a roadway hazard. That said, I still installed it on the RV, with great results with the portable lantern. I’d suggest that the manufacturer could somehow reengineer and modify the setup such that the base is foldable such that it doesn’t protrude, or the recharging is done in a way that doesn’t need a base at all. It’s still a very attractive lantern the added feature that it’s removeable and portable for up to 2 hours.

Wow, this turned out to be a really nice light fixture. I tend to steer away from integrated lighting but I guess I'm making an exception with this. Our back yard is deep, no electric outlets in the way back, and most of the year too shady for solar. But we have the compost pile and bird feeders back there and we leave a brush pile over the winter for the wild life. The lantern function especially has turned out to be quite useful for us. Winter nights come early and sunrise late in New York due to daylight savings. It has been nice to just grab off the lantern when we need it and not have to worry about flashlight bulbs and batteries. And it's quite attractive and bright setting on the base as well. Pleasantly surprised. Don't know how long it will last but we'll enjoy it for as long as it does.

The Home Decorators Collection Portable Black Outdoor Integrated LED Wall Mount Lantern is truly an innovative product. I installed this on my back patio entrance and although I was skeptical we'd use the lift-away lantern, I've found we are using it most nights to enhance the backyard ambiance. Good forward-thinking to the designers to have the base light up when the lantern is removed. Installation is easier than with normal wall sconces since you don't have to hold and balance the whole weight of the lamp while wiring and securing it to the wall. The seeded glass look is one of our favorite styles, and the light is bright enough to be useful. I would like to see a brighter option like 60- or 100-watt equivalent since this lantern output is only about equivalent to a 40-watt bulb, and the LEDs and battery should be user-replaceable.

This is such a great idea! Looks great too. At first I wasn't sure about the "portable" feature. More specifically, why would I need that? Well it does have quite a few applications. I would say using it in a front yard might not be as practical as in the back yard. The back yard it is useful for everything seen in the video. Taking the dog out, walking too/from the patio, hot tub, whatever, hanging out at the patio, etc. The front i would say most have walk ways/paths lit up already, and are you really going to walk it to your car? I would also worry about someone using a 5-finger discount at some point. Note that the way this works is the mount connects to the standard 120v power. The stand has an LED light in it's base that not only lights the lantern, but also keeps the stand lit if/when you remove the lantern. The lantern has another light that only lights when removed. When on the stand, this light is off and the stands light illuminates the lantern. Note that when mounted the lantern is pretty bright. When removed, it's own light is about half as bright. I'd say it's adequate for walking around, but doing something like playing a game in the yard, obviously not. One thing i don't see in the pictures is that the stand has not only the base light that lights up the lantern, but it also has a smaller light at the very bottom of it. This light is very dim, but adds a mild accent light on the wall below it. The lantern itself is pretty light. I'd say around 1 pound. So anyone can carry it. It does have Dawn/Dusk sensor. So it will not be on during the day. Only comes on in the dark. I've always wondered how the BBU "battery back up" In the lantern activates. Specifically, if once charged, if the power goes out, does it come on automatically, or does it only come on when removed from the base? All in all i would strongly recommend this for back yard or any other applications where you might want a lantern to walk around with. I hope this manufacturer makes the same thing in a smaller version. I would love this as wall sconces beside my fireplace, but it's too big for indoors in my opinion.

I have never seen a light fixture like this. We installed the fixture on the back porch. The lantern lifts off the fixture and can be used for 2 hours. I guess you could move it around the yard, or even bring it in the house for an extra party light. It is a nicely sized lantern and the design looks nice with our white house. Since we have not used the lantern feature, I don't know if the light will last two hours. When it warms up a bit, I am anxious to try it.
