It is difficult to line everything up. The Spindel kept falling out and finally fell into the door. I'm waiting for a Spinel replacement.

This is the second Ideal deadbolt that brook down within a couple of months of the installation date. Shoddy material! Low quality metal stick that operates the lock.

Easy to install in less than an hour and worked as it should, but I am an older guy with shop experience. I think somebody with very little 'do it yourself experience' and only a few tools might have some trouble. I was replacing an older worn-out lock, so it was almost a drop in installation

Hi, I have the Ideal polished brass dead bolt and door lever on my front storm door. The style and construction is excellent but the finish doesn't last. I've replace both items twice already. The function is fine but the finish is only fair. These items need to be PVD finished. They are after all on the outside of a home, exposed to the elements. They would be perfect otherwise.

Very easy to assemble. Looks good. Slide lock could be a little longer. Other than that nice.

We only used the interior portion to secure a porch storm door. It was very difficult to find a lock because the handle did not include a lock. This was a reasonably priced solution.

To put the lock on was good about 25 mins. Drilling was easy. Only the middle hole needed to be bigger.

Hard to install simply because the screw holes are so far away from where the other side of the door is. They are not easy to hit. Putting the screws down too hard--which does not seem to be very hard at all--causes the deadbolt not to turn. Put them down too loose... and the dead bolt moves on the door. Have not found the right middle yet, but I really only got it to cover an existing hole where a previous deadbolt was, so I don't really plan to use it.

Bought this for our sunroom door to replace a broken lock. Our door is only 1in thick and we had to trim the stem. Something to be aware of since you’ll need additional tools because it’s a sturdy piece of metal. Otherwise it was easy to install and matches the white handle already installed on our door.

Easy purchase. Out of the package, the lock seems to have a high spot or rub, just by turning the knob and or key side. Lock does not operate smoothly, either installed or uninstalled. After install still has the rub from both ways, rub when turning from knob or using key. Hoping this will not get worse or stop lock from working. Old lock has been on door 10 years, always worked smoothly. Hope new lock does not break.
