These are awesome, the cable feeds right on track when sliding into the rj45. Works better than some of the other rj45 ends I have used.

Easy to use! I bought these plugs to hardwire all of my TVs. I had no issues with crimping and connecting these plugs.
I would suggest adding strain relief covers to your install to help protect your wiring.

This product does not include a wire guide for the insertion of the conductors. This makes the insertion of the orange and orange/white conductors more difficult.

Viking I don't quite understand your comment. Once you have the conductors in order trim them to about 1/2 inch and insert them into the connector with white orange on your left and the gold pins in the connector facing you then crimp. I did a review of this earlier and gave it a 1 Star because of failed crimping and the fact that the connectors would not insert after crimping. I supposed I had bad connectors and as a guard of buying defective connectors in the future I thought I would test them in the store to see if they would insert into a Cat5 test tool before leaving the store. Little did I know that they won't fit until you crimp because that presses the gold connectors into the wires and lowers their previous position. So just inserting an uncrimped connector into a Cat 5 port is not physically possible. I got to this depressing point because I had mixed old type connectors (for twisted wires) with the newer type connectors (for solid copper wire). The older type is for twisted wire only but the newer type will work on both twisted and solid copper Cat5. So ... now and then I would pull an older connector out of the box and then crimp on solid copper only to find out the wires (or a wire) is open. When you are up and down a ladder to crimp the ends of a 100' run ... well, patience runs thin. The difference between the 2 types is visible by looking at the sides with a magnifying glass. They ARE different. Look at the videos created by Ideal. I can't delete the old review so I hope this will correct my earlier review.

I purchased a bag of these from HD about 2 years ago ... worked fine. Went my stock got low I purchased another bag and these don't work at all. They are out of manufacturing tolerance and are about .0010" too wide when I checked with a micrometer. They just fail to insert into a Cat5 port at all. Yesterday I went back to the Nampa, Idaho HD to get a new bag, but before I checked out I tested with my cable tester and they will not insert at all, yet a 50' pre-made cable fits just fine. I opened 2 packets of different amounts just to verify. So these are getting past quality control. I did not complain at the desk because of a poor experience before and just decided to order online.

Gritz something just does not sound right and I will be glad to help. We have not heard of any complaints about the plugs not fitting correctly so I'd like to follow up with you. If you take a plug out of the package and try to insert into your tester it will not fit since the pins have not been crimped. Once installed on cable the tools presses the pins below the body of the plug and then they will fit in the tester. If you need more help contact me Ron at ron.kipper@idealindustries.com.

I've been wiring Ethernet cables for over 15 years. Purchased the Idea RJ-45 Cat5e (25 pack) for a small home network job for a client. These RJ-45 Cat 5e are great. They worked perfectly with Cat 6 cable as well.
Like any other task, you must prep the wire properly and use quality crimping tools in-order to achieve a good connection.

Network7 amen brother the first few someone makes takes a little time but these actually get pretty easy to do once you get the process down. Plus it is a good skill to have when repairing Ethernet cables. take care Ron at ron.kipper@idealindustries.com

No bad plugs in the pack I got. All crimped easily. It's hard to get super excited over an RJ-45 plug but it worked as designed. I usually prefer to grab these in bulk to save some cost but this pack works well in a pinch. Definitely my go to for last minute jobs when I run out of stock.

Hi Ends glad to hear they worked out for you. Technically you should be able to make up a patchcord that is pretty long about 300 feet and it should work. Thanks Ron at ron.kipper@idealindustries.com
