The toilet was defective. The left side is bulging higher than the right. The water doesn't hit evenly on both sides. Yes it is level. I checked the level from multiple directions.

I was very hesitant to give up my old toilet for this unit with just over a gallon to flush waste. So I was planning to keep my old toilet and find a tub to match. But this did not happen and our remodel included replacing our toilet with this Wellworth toilet. I was pleasantly surprised! This toilet not only looks great, but flushing power is even better than our old toilet that used 5 gallons. We have had this toilet for 9 months and the only complaint I had was the included toilet seat was flimsy. I found a good quality Kohler toilet seat and now it is just perfect. Very satisfied.

This was the least expensive and NOT a "comfort seat height" (higher seat). We wanted the lower one. We LOVE it. Flush is great even though it seems like it uses so little water (which is what we wanted). My brothers installed it over Thanksgiving and it works great.

People have different tastes, that said, I really like this toilet. From the way it flushes and it's height to the relatively small amount of space it requires of my bathroom. I tried a higher toilet and its not for me as I can't get comfortable with just my toes touching the floor, I did not like the sound of it either and because my bathroom is smaller, every time I walked by it looked as if we had built the room around the large toilet. Now everything is symmetrical and I am comfortable and very happy with my purchase.

Bought two of these to replace very old 5 gpf toilets that took forever to fill. The first one installed with no issues and everything is fine. The second one there were a few issues we noticed during and after install. First off, when we took the toilet seat out of the plastic to put it on, one of the bolt covers has plastic melted to it and a deep cut in in it. Also, the tank would not mount straight with the bowl (or wall for that matter). The bowl is mounted perpendicular to the wall, but when the tank is mounted it is not straight with the wall behind it. The lid for the tank does not fit on the tank right either. It wobbles on the tank and doesn't not completely cover the back of the tank. No issues with the tank lid on the first one, it covers the back and sits flat/does not wobble. Finally after trying troubleshoot the tank and lid issues (with no resolution), we noticed that the water level does not seem to be the same on both sides of the opening, almost like one side of the bowl is bulged in compared to the other side.

We replaced our old toilet because it was probably 40+ years old and used water like a drunken sailor spends money on shore leave. It was easily using 4 or more gallons per flush (probably more like 5 or 6). Our water bill was through the roof. We chose the Kohler Wellworth Classic because it received good reviews from Home Depot users. Installation was simple enough. I'm pretty handy around the house, but I've never installed a toilet before so I proceeded slowly and with caution. The biggest challenge was getting the old one out. Rusted bolts, etc., slowed the process down, but the whole job took probably just an hour-and-a-half, including cleanup. The new toilet went in easily. Included instructions were good. The internal components (toilet float) tended to stick for a few days, preventing the tank from refilling every now and then. I tinkered with it a bit and we haven't had a problem since. The old toilet was a drunken sailor. The new toilet sips water daintily with its pinky extended like a refined princess. We can track our daily water usage through the water company and we're already showing a savings after just about a week-and-a-half. And considering the paltry amount of water it uses it performs remarkably well. It has handled everything we've thrown its way, if you know what I mean. This should pay for itself fairly quickly.

Toilet design is great, good price, but quality control is pretty bad. Our toilet hardware kit was missing one of the three bolts that holds the tank to the bowl. The guy in plumbing at our local home depot was awesome about giving us a missing tank-to-bowl bolt, so kudos to Home Depot on customer service. But then once we got the tank mounted and hooked up the water supply, the Fluidmaster 400 fill valve leaked. We watched youtube videos, called an HVAC/Maintenance buddy and followed procedure to check the rubber gasket, but no good: it still leaks. So now we have to get a replacement, more hassle and another errand to run on our already busy weekend. We bought two of these Kohler Wellworth toilets, and the downstairs one went in with no problems and works great. But having two hardware problems out of two toilets bought means that quality control at Kohler needs work. Otherwise, we are happy with these toilets. When you open the box, check that all the pieces are included. But for the price, these are nice toilets... IF they have all the parts in good working order.

We bought two of these to replace our old 5 gallon per flush toilets. We chose this model at the local HD after comparing it to the others in-stock. We wanted a round bowl since we have smaller bathrooms, and we wanted standard bowl height (14.5") due to having young children at home. As an aside, I was quite surprised that most of the HD toilet inventory was ADA compliant comfort-height (17-19"), which are quite difficult for children to use, and really not that comfortable for this tall adult. Everything we needed was included in the box, and I installed it myself in about 40 minutes. I already had a newer supply line which is not included with toilet. The canister flush mechanism was a significant improvement over the high volume, slow flush toilets we had. With our old toilets we would occasionally have failure to flush, or FTF, incidents due to the overuse of TP or back to back uses without a flush. We never had a clogging or flush-related issue with the Wellworth, and the canister flush is much more rapid and powerful. Whoosh and everything was down the tubes. We did have 2 issues I would like to note. 1) The small fill-hose within the tank, which connects to the top of the flush valve, managed to pop off twice, spraying water out of the tank, even with the lid closed. I used emory cloth to rough-up the hose and where it connects in hopes that the additional friction would solve the problem, which it seems to have done. 2) The flush-valve gasket failed after about 18 months. It was a thin red ring on the bottom of the canister and the symptoms were similar to those of failed flapper mechanism: a slow leak with periodic fill-valve opening. AKA, the classic running toilet problem. There was a yellow replacement gasket available at HD which appears to have fixed the problem. Does the different color mean it's a different material? I recommend getting the $7 yellow gasket at the time of installation and replacing it right away. Apart from the two minor quality issues, the Wellworth is a water-saving improvement over our previous USA-made 5 gallon-flush Kohler toilets. It reliably flushed-away all toilet solids without needing a second flush or a plunger.

This toilet was super easy to assemble. A plumber was charging $300 to do it and I was able to do it myself and seal it to the floor with no problems! The toilet seat is lower than the chair height which is perfect for my toddler.

We purchased three of these toilets to replace the 30 year old units in our town home and are very satisfied with their performance. Now we did hire a plumber to install them as we didn't have a lot of time and plumbing isn't something I usually like to get involved with. We've had them for about 2 months now and I have actually been surprised on well they work. With such a low amount of water being used I was a little nervous that they wouldn't be able to remove waste efficiently. Well that has not been a problem! And I am some one who does occasionally stop up toilets when I'm really putting it down, so that these things have handled everything I've dealt so far is absolutely worth a 5 star in my book. I did have to have the plumber come back because one of the seals around the piston in one toilet didn't seat quiet right and water was leaking between the tank and bowl. But after a real quick adjustment (in which I also learned how the seal can be replaced when they wear out) it was all set. I'm so happy we choose these units instead of playing it safe with a larger flush amount with a classic flapper model. Especially since I have two small children and there is a good bit of "test" flushing that happens in my home. It also suited us well for two other reasons - our older home has smaller bathrooms, so a round bowl was ideal for not eating up all the floor space. And because of our young children the lower bowl height was preferable for short legs. Thank you home depot and thank you Kohler!

I bought two to replace my old toilets. After my plumber installed the firtst one, I have noticed the water shape in the bowl is not symmetric. I checked the level of the bowl, and it was perfect. Close looking at it, I notice that the left side of the bowl inside has a gradual bulging surface compared to the right side. In order for me to return it for an even exchange, I would have to pay the plumber to uninstall it and to reinstall the new one. I do not understand how in the world such a visibly obvious defective product could pass the Kohler inspection process. Very very disappointed!

              Kohler Wellworth Toilet
Replacing a toilet in a very old house. Measurements were not standard at the house but this small Kohler toilet fit perfectly. I had the leaking tank problem but used marine grade silicone over the bolts inside the tank and problem solved. However the back of the tank-cover was not smooth and seemed a bit cracked. It's something that shouldn't have passed quality control, especially if it's a Kohler but since it's the rear of the cover nobody will see it. Still.... it shouldn't have happened. Picture attached. Overall good toilet for the money.

              Great No Plug Kohler Toilet
Replaced both bathroom toilets. Spare bathroom toilet plug constantly. This toilet has not plugged one time since they were installed 2 months ago and their also a great water saver, fast flush and shuts off fast, also purchased the Kohler Self Close Toilet Seat for the spare bathroom seeing's how I already had one in my bathroom. The old toilets ran to long before shutting off, will see next water bill how much it goes down. Great Price and easy to install.

              Great Value
The toilet is the right size, round front and 14-1/2" high to fit anywhere. Put this one in a small bathroom remodel. It flushes as well as any $300 toilet out there and lasts for years. I have purchased and installed at least three of these toilets over the past several years. They come complete with everything even the wax ring, (although the lid is a cheap plastic and we replaced it) so it's as simple as it gets. I even ordered one for pick up and installation by a tenant who had no trouble putting it in...

              One person installation
The wax ring when installed on the toilet has about a 1/2" to 3/4" space around the edge of the toilet flange. You need to be extremely careful when placing the new toilet on the floor flange. If not properly seated, it will leak when you flush, that's what happen to me. I went and purchased a new toilet wax ring with a flanged horn which solved the problem. The flanged horn on the bottom of the new wax ring helps guide the seating of the toilet onto the floor flange. Seating of a new toilet on the floor flange has a blind spot when installing it by yourself and horn from the wax ring helps guide it into the floor flange. After installation with the new wax ring, it worked great and we are happy. Frank

              Interior finish didn't last
Toilet was east to install, works well but the interior finish has been diminished over the past 5 years. We do not use cleaners or metal snakes for clogs so was disappointed that the white coating has worn away or chipped off near the spot where main water comes out when flushed. Warranty is shorter than I would have thought for the finish.

Very easy to install. Was an unbolt the old and bolt in the new. It took minutes.
Everything went great. I looked the unit up online, called the store, they set it out, I sent my wife to pick it up as I just had surgery and they loaded it in the car for her. My nephew came over and installed in less than 1/2 hour.

              "Do not over Tighten"
The tank mounts with three bolts instead of the normal two. There are no torque ratings for these bolts, the instructions only state "do not over tighten". I mounted the the tank with equal counted turns on each bolts, alternating each bolt after 2-3 turns each till they seemed snug but not "over tightened". Everything looked good, solid mount, no rocking, time to turn on water. Before I could turn on the water supply there was a loud snap sound from the tank. Turns out I apparently "over tightened" the tank bolts and broke the rear bolt flange off the bowl section which turned my new toilet into $217.00 worth of junk. If you purchase this toilet, please try to find torque setting for the tank bolts before installing. I have repaired and installed auto and home products for 40 years and know how to not "over tighten" a bolt, please beware!

                Nice toilet
We originally chose a cheaper toilet, but upon getting it home discovered that it didn't fit in our bathroom. My husband returned the first toilet to get a shorter toilet. He came home with this one and I was pleasantly surprised. Not that I've really thought of toilets as pretty, but I think it looks really good. Getting it installed wasn't too bad. First try didn't go as planned, but that was our fault. Hubby didn't get the wax ring installed correctly and after we had put it all together discover that it was leaking out the bottom. Ugh!! Second install (after a quick trip to the store at 10:30 at night for a new ring) was much faster and now we are pros ;-) The only issue with install that I would consider a flaw is the tank attachment. With the inner workings being so bulky it was hard getting a hand down in to tighten bolts. It took 2 people to really get the thing attached good. I with the smaller hand reached down in to hold the bolts in place as dear husband did the tightening from underneath. Not the easiest part of the process. Over all it was an easy install even for us. (who are not very handy) Anyway the kids are thrilled with it and my one child who has always had an issue with flushing toilets (the noise seemed to scare her) commented that it was much quieter then the old one. I hope this mean that she will now flush it herself, because that drove me crazy. That right there will make the whole purchase worthwhile!

                Extremely good choice
Our old, quite expensive Kohler started to leak. We needed a new toilet immediately and it needed to be a relatively short toilet back to front. Made a quick run to home depot - with our plumber and chose this, mainly for size and slightly nicer styling than the only other choice. It empties better, cleaner and faster, than any toilet we've ever had. It seems to use suction first followed by water rinse, and obviously uses far less water than any other we've ever used anywhere. We didn't have to install it ourselves, so I can't speak to ease of installation but to say that our plumber had it in in no time at all. I only wish it had been available in a creamy-tan color to match our tub. But it's pretty hidden, so I really have no complaints of any merit.
