Bought this at electrical supplier and very happy with it. On the back there was a QR code to download wiring diagram to your phone. Sadly link was broken and can’t find it with the search on the website. Oh well

I have purchased 5 pairs of these for each of my offices to do simple network updates. After many CRC errors and Failures on Pin 1&2 - I tested all 5 pairs with a half dozen brands of pass-through connectors with my Klein Scout Pro 3 - None worked. The Build quality and features of this tool are awesome - but Sorry Klein, I will have to buy a different pass-through crimper.

I bought this tool a little over a month ago and at same time purchased new CAT6. To my surprise I have been unsuccessful in creating simple patch cables thinking it was either my cable or bad set of RJ45s. I’m now sitting here with an expensive Klein paperweight and very disappointed!!! Very heavy duty tool which I want to love but hate because it does not work properly.

Tool does not push the pins for 1 and 2 all the way down and therefore there is no connection to the wire. If you look in the pic you will notice the last two pins aren't pushed in fully.

This is definitely the tool to get for crimping. I used this to repair a bunch of ethernet cables with broken clips. The terminals come out flawlessly every single time and I have not had any issues with it whatsoever.

Been using this pass thru crimper for almost a year now and it has stood up to all the use and abuse I have thrown at it. I prefer the pass thru style rj45 jacks as someone that needs to field terminate security devices in tight spaces, on ladders, lifts, etc. These always give me a solid crimp and clean cut on the excess cabling. Some stand-outs of this particular tool: +Replaceable blades, though still using original ones without issue +Ergonomic grip, less to think about when crimping since I'm always holding it the same way +Wiring diagrams on both sides (great for beginners and for seasoned guys it never hurts to have a reminder sitting there!) +Compact, ratcheting design fits my pouch better than the traditional handled varieties

As a first timer crimping on Cat 5 cable connectors, I was really surprised at how easy it was. It took me a few minutes to learn how to best align each of the 8 wires into the pass through connector to get them in the right order and into their slot properly, but this was really the most difficult part. Once I had the wires through the connector, this crimper was a breeze to use! I've only used this for one cable so far, but I can already tell that it will go really fast once I get the hang of it. I would definitely recommend a pass-through crimper like this one to anybody who is new to this as it makes it so easy to crimp the ends. One of the nicest features of this crimper is that it has a diagram built into the back of it that shows you where each of the colored wires go. I'm sure the pro's here have this memorized, but for DIYers and others that don't do this as often this is so helpful. It's also very useful for double checking your work before crimping.

There is not a lot to say about this tool other then it functions as expected. I have only had to crimp one cable with it so far, but have several more to do. It's solid in construction and performs as described. The self cutting/trimming portion is a bonus and it actually has a standard pair configuration marking on the handle for both RJ45 options, 568A and 568B wiring. Nice design with the latch to hold the tool closed.

I recieved my Klein Tools pass-thru modular crimper today; these will come in handy because I am moving my cable modem. These compact crimper's will work great for cat 5 or cat 6 cable,(you must use Klein pass-thru connectors) I buy a roll of cable and A pack of Klein pass-thru connectors; it is an economical way to make cables. There is a wiring diagram on the back of the package and one printed on the Klein crimper tool which is a nice feature. Overall this is very easy to use tool and a fast way to make your own cat 5 or 6 cables.

I love this little guy. Coming from a standard two handle crimper which was bulky and like a grip workout, this crimper fits perfectly in your hand and requires little effort. Better yet, it uses a pass through design, crimping and flush cutting your cable wire strands in a single motion. Finally, it has the wiring guides on the tool (T568B, T568A), except for USOC (which is on a card with the other two you can cut out from the packaging). The only thing it will not work with is non-passthrough connectors. It’s solidly made, seems to be of typical Klein quality. Weight wise, it’s like a metal stapler of the same size. It’s definitely my main crimper now. The older one will be used for non-passthrough connectors and as a loner.

Does what it's supposed to do quite well. (crimp & cut) Works will with non Klein Tool RJ-45 ends as well. The cable cutter work good as well. However, I'm not a big fan of the the catx cable stripper but it's there if you need it in a pinch. Also nice that the blades are replaceable once they go dull. Overall good product. I just wish the handle would lock in the down position for easier storage.

This Crimping Tool took 100% of the failure rate out of my termination skill! No Shorts, No Crosses and no Data Failures first try, every wire so far. Additionally all wires are jacket to plug perfect length. No risk of pull out. All in one tool Cuts, Strips and Crimps in seconds. Carry less tools and do a better job.

Klein does it again with the release of a great new product. I’ve been in the telecom/data industry for over 25 years and this crimped tops them all. Easy to use, ergonomically comfortable, and compact. The new pass throug connectors make it easy to feed wire through and verify your setup before making a final crimp. Highly recommend!!!!

This is another great tool from a great company. Does everything you need all in one place. Also well built very heavy duty.

I recently got these crimpers to try out. I must say, they are way better than the gear I have been using the last few years. They saved me time and frustration at work this week. You do have to buy the ends from Klein but it seems so worth it to me. The cutter and cable stripper worked fantastic. The pass thru ends are fairly easy and straight forward to use. As an invited Klein Crusader I finally had a chance to use this tool they sent me as a promotional offer. I struggled with it at first, and was skeptical after my first try using the pass-thru connectors (normally I use their standard compact modular crimper); but I discovered a few tricks that made it easier on further terminations. 1) Trim the ends, and straighten everything before inserting into the connector (I thought since it was pass-thru I could get by without it, but with rough ends they get all messed up in their). 2) Put the connector in the crimper port before pushing the cable through. This is definitely a nice crimper, and having the ends pass-thru makes it REALLY great to double check your wires before crimping down. I'd say the only thing that would make this one a little better would be the ability to use standard non-pass connectors, so one tool could be used anywhere. The feel and quality of this one are great, though I like the locking handle on my compact crimper a little better. If all you plan to do is have pass-thru connectors this is a great tool, but practice making a few jumpers first, it takes some getting used to.

Having the wiring guides on each side makes for quicker checking and install.

This Klein crimper is a compact, all-in-one tool especially suited for making custom ethernet cables. It is solid and well-designed. Below I have posted a sequence of “how to” for easily making cables. The pass-thru style is important to note: you must buy pass-thru data plugs. That means your wire actually protrudes through the cable plug end. I personally find this extremely helpful for double-checking the color-pair arrangement. Green-stripe and blue-stripe can be difficult to distinguish inside of a plug, so having 1-2” of wire protruding out lets me ensure that i have the wires in the correct order.

My camera and Internet connections go a lot more smoothly with this new tool from Home Depot combination with the test to. I’m a much better installer and I’ve been installing for 40 years.

Works smooth and precise as all my Klein tools. Also nice having the diagram on the tool.

Normally the all-in-one tools lack in one area like stripping depth, etc. This one perfectly stripped cat6, and then the crimp & cut of the pass-thru connectors was great. I was able to eliminate one extra tool and speed up job time with this.

Way better than our previous RG 6 tools.
