This fluorescent shop light is AWESOME on the light output having 3 tubes is amazing light output using 3 6500k tubes it's like daylight and I love that brightness in the garage I can now see what I'm doing. I think I'm going to buy a few more and get rig of the other ones I have in my garage to make this a super bright work shop which was so hard to find until now with this shop light, Thank you Home Depot!

I bought two of these today from my local Home Depot. They looked great in the store display. I had originally planned on getting the 4-light Lithonia heavy duty work light but these had the nice reflective chrome finish vs. the grey finish on the 4-light. The 3 light actually looks brighter than the 4-light due the reflective chrome finish. Be advised, you cannot surface mount these lights. The reflector shroud is screwed AND riveted to the base. Also, the build quality is horrible. I'd almost call it a heavy gauge aluminum foil. The unit is so light that it won't hang level without lights because the weight of the cord will pull down on one side canting the whole unit up. With the bulbs in and the cord twist tied up, I could get the light fairly level. I also found it impossible to insert the bulbs with the light hanging up. Believe it or not the bulbs will not fit without pushing the ends out a bit. On the positive side, the bulbs seem to "lock" into the sockets - better than any of my old T12 utility lights. With the bulbs in their sockets and "locked" in, the unit seemed much more solid and stiff like the bulbs were designed to structurally stiffen the unit. Build quality aside, once the light was up, it looked great. Turns on instantly with no flickering and puts out lots of light.

Although this is discontinued, please be safe, it will catch on fire.

Lithonia had a good idea, unfortunately the flimsy construction overrides the good idea. Fixture hangs crooked. Sockets do hold the lamps in tight. Light output is good size is good, just too light weight of metal that the fixture is constructed of. A heavier gage metal would mAke this a quality fixture. Price is WAY to high for this product.

I bought this online/ship to store to add the same light to my existing one for more light in garage. Works well even to low temperatures in Ohio. Unfortunately damaged during shipping and not noticed until package was opened. Not damaged enough to go through trouble of taking back to store and waiting a few more weeks. Since it is dark colored it is hardly noticeable unless you know what to look for.

A nice very bright light but has a very anoint hum.

This is a poorly made product, thin metal, portions arrived bent.

This light uses 3 T8 bulbs. Lots of light in the garage. These lights come on as soon as you throw the switch. Be careful because corners are sharp. The bulbs were difficult to install and turn. That's why I gave the light 4 stars. Would I buy another one, absolutely.

I started with buying 3 of these lights in our new garage. They were awesome right out of the box. They are a bit pricey at $39.99 each but having that 3rd bulb in the center sure kicks off a ton of light. I bought 2 lights afterwards at Menards of a different brand and only 2 bulbs. They didn't kick out the same amount of light so I ordered 3 more online as my local store discontinued carrying them in black.

I have bought 12 of these and had no problems with any of them. They are sturdy, easy, and ready to go right out of the box. You do have to hang them with the provided chains but this set up worked out well for me.

Awesome lights, you won't be disappointed! People say there cheap and flimsy? You hang them up and don't touch them, your not handling them on a daily basis. There not that flimsy! Tip, put light bulbs in before you hang them, makes life much easier. I think I bought daylight bulbs, super bright. Looking into led, does anyone know if led's work with the fixture?

This product was very easy to install and works well in my shop. A very useful and an inexpensive punchy.

This is a great 3-lamp, compact fixture. My only complaint is that the metal edges are not finished, and are sharp to handle, but once it's up, there's no need to handle it again. My real complaint is that I bought this fixture as a "close-out" and I can't get another one!

Gives out the light for an 8' lamp in a 4' setup! Very compact Works well!

The light was installed in a basement work area. It provides a good amount of illumination in that area. It was easy to install and plugs directly into the wall outlet.

I say coolness because after being on for even 30 min it is very cool to the touch which is good since I use it over my work bench and after several hours when I get ready to turn it off it is very cool to the touch. Great purchase and the look is great for a workshop.

I could not decide between this and the Lithonia lighting 4-light Heavy duty shop light Model # 1284GRD RE. So I purchased both to compare. This 3 Light fixture is brighter then the 4-light model. however the buzzing in this 3 light unit was as bad or worse than my really old cheapo t-12 fixtures the previous home owners had installed who knows how many years ago. The noise alone was enough to make this unit a no buy! I can verify what some other reviews have said on a couple of points...The light bulbs are much harder to install especially compared to the 4-light model With the 4-light model I I could install and remove the bulbs with one hand yet they were mounted secure. on this model you have to twist hard on both ends of the bulb at the same time. and this model is much more flimsy than the 4-light model. after the 3 bulbs were installed I noticed a gap at the end where the light prongs plug into the sockets, I had to squeeze the fixture together from both ends to get the gap to go away, but once I did the gap did not come back. The cord does cause the light to tilt because the light is so light so you do have to secure the cord to the ceiling somehow if you want it to be level. also worth noting when removing the end bulbs I felt It would be possible to cut my finger on the thin metal of this unit if I was not careful. In the end for me, this model is going back to HD for a refund, And maybe the 4-light model although no problems with that model, I feel it is not bright enough. This model is definitely bright but I just cant live with that annoying BUZZZZZZZZ!

Great light looks cool very bright fills the room with light has 3 small bulbs makes a great shop light or would work well in any room in your home car port patio ext uses a small amount of electricity thanks to it's very efficient components the only draw back ware your sun glasses !!!!!!!

I am pleased with the light. Thought I wish I had waited because I found a better light at a lower price elsewhere.

This shop light looks pretty cool with the diamond plate and it puts off alot of light. It was a little more expensive then some of the other shop lights, but worth it.

Decent light for the price. Pros - bright, easy to install. Cons - the metal is very thin so the product feels flimsy, this doesn't really impact the usability - just impression of the quality. The other negative is the bulbs are hard to twist into place as the brackets feel stiff. I felt like I might break the bulbs as I twisted them into place.

It is flimsy but I'm not standing on it or using it to torch on stuff so it's a great light and it dose it's job lights up the garage no problem Nuf said

Bought this for my aquarium,needed more light and specialty fixtures were out of budget . This light is really good. The fact that you can put three bulbs in it was what sold me, also the finish is nice. Bright and affordable.

Puts out excellent light and looks nice once installed. However, it is extremely cheaply made. I just built a new shop for myself and used some old lights I had. I am now replacing them with new. I bought one of these lights to try and the light difference is awesome. I heard wired mine in. They are not set up for that and I had to completely disassemble it and punch a 7/8" hole for the conduit entrance as there is no provision for it. Use a knockout for this, DO NOT try to drill it. The metal is so thin that I am afraid it will just tear. Once I got it installed I had a very hard time getting the bulbs in, but with some TLC and massaging I got finally them in. It looks great and does put out a great deal more light than the ones I had. Mine are over 12ft up and the pull cord isn't an option for me anyway, but I can't imagine it holding together pulling on the cord, but mine is on a switch and once up I'm not anticipating any problems with its material short comings. I have just purchased another and plan on replacing all 9 of my lights with them.

Purchased two of these units for garage work lights. Installation was simple and both lights provided ample amount of light in the garage. I recently had an issue with one of the lights where the bulb connection broke off the fixture. I did not have my original receipt when calling Lithonia for support, was able to find a mfg date on the serial number and was immediatly shipped out a replacement light, no questions asked. This is an inexpensive lighting solution for my garage, the fact that LIthonia stands behind their lower end lighting solutions as they did makes me happy do to business with them in the future.

Bought 4 fixtures and a box of 6500K lights after reading reviews. Installed two @ 12' and turned them on and they were very dim. The middle of every bulb was not bright at all and flickering. Pulled them down and and put 6 more bulbs it and checked to make sure that I had twisted them in the proper direction. Same thing. pulled out the other 2 fixtures and installed different new bulbs and they did the same thing. Must have been a batch of bad ballasts.Taking them back and looking something different. I have some of their 2 light fixtures and they work great.

so cheaply built it is flexible like it's made out of tin foil . BUT THE WORST PART IS it does not work at all !!! THE BULBS WILL NOT SNAP IN TIGHT AND SO FAR NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO GET IT TO LIGHT AT ALL !!!!!!!! AND TO MAKE IT WORSE I CAN'T FIND THE RECEIPT ( MY FAULT FOR NOT INSTALLING IT FOR 45 DAYS and for trusting Home Depot). I now have to run out to MENARDS and get a replacement !

My husband and I put this light up together with ease. It gives a lot of light in our basement. So much light in fact that we only put two bulbs in it, instead of three. The black casing looks really nice as well.
