I purchased this grease to prevent wear on my riding mower spindle bearings. I picked it due to its rating for heavy duty equipment. I figured if it took the beating of heavy equipment my use for my mower would definitely be covered. I install this grease in my battery powered grease gun with ease. I lubricated the spindle bearing and front end of the riding mower. Not long after lubrication I started cutting grass, I could immediately tell the difference in the steering of the mower. It was smooth and easier to maneuver. I also noticed a change in pitch when the blades were engaged, the noise threshold is a lot quieter than it was prior to grease application. Now as for longevity, that is still to be seen but as of now the product definitely has served its purpose and is immediately noticeable. So if you're shopping for some all purpose grease this is the one to take a look at!

It’s good to know that Home Depot sells Lucas brand high quality X-TRA HD grease gun cartridges at a competitive price. The Lucas HD grease is green. I never gave much thought to grease being color coded and I don’t think I’ve ever had green grease before. I’d prefer orange, but that’s just me. I’m also not sure that I’ve used a polyurea based grease before. To be safe, I’m pumped this grease into the fittings until I saw green. Otherwise, this Lucas X-TRA HD Grease is perfect for my needs. The cartridge is packed with information and it all seems good. I’m of the belief that the quality and performance of lubricants should exceed the needs of my equipment. Some of my things sit for some time between uses and it looks like this Lucas X-TRA HD Green Grease is up to the task of providing protection between uses as well as lubrication. The cartridge is standard sized and fit my cordless grease gun. (Cordless grease guns may just be one of life’s greatest pleasures!) It pumped just as easily as with the lithium grease I used previously. Probably not many remember the days before cartridges so I’ll let that go. The tab for removing the end of the cartridge did break off as I was loading the grease gun but that’s no biggie, that’s what pliers are for. Everything is greased and I’m happy. The tractor is operating a bit quieter so apparently it’s happy too.

This grease was used on some of the internal workings of my snow blower which I just serviced and put away for the summer and I used it servicing the lawn tractor to make sure it is ready to work throughout the summer and autumn. It will also be used to pack the bearings on other yard implements like the aerator, the broadcast spreader and, later in the year, the leaf collector.

I've used this grease before and had good results. No issues, applies easy and visible - I like the green color. I've used it on my cars (e.g., ball joints, tie rods, links, etc.) and lawn equipment and mower decks. I like using the larger grease tubes vs the smaller grease tubes and guns you get at the parts stores. You are always filling them up. I think the 14 oz. guns seal better(i.e., don't leak), last longer at least in my experience.

Looks like spring is finally here and its time to get out and get the tractor and backhoe ready for work! I generally grease everything at the start of the season and after every couple of days of use. I really like this heavy duty grease and it gives me peace of mind knowing I can go a little longer between greasing if need be. This stuff is thick and stays put and is essentially water proof. Does a great job at keeping dirt out of load bearing pivot points. It might be a little more expensive than other options but at the end of the day its really cheap insurance against premature wear and tear,

I thought the red was the best.....my son over ruled me and taught me Lucas Green is the BEST!

Good quality grease for a grease gun

This review is only because Home Depot has sent me on average three emails a week since purchasing almost 5 months ago.

Hard to find but Home Depot had it with easy curb side pickup.

Awesome product at great price

Have used Lucas Heavy Duty Grease in all of my equipment for years and it keeps everything in top running shape. It is the secret to the longevity of my equipment also.

Use 1/2 the amount of this grease when routinely greasing rotary cutter (bush hog) vs other EP2 red grease.

Used for internal gear mechanism during rebuilding of a Sabre saw. Worked perfectly

Works great in the cold

Use this grease on the chassis of my Silverado. It works well. Fits a standard size grease gun with no problem.
