The Lutron Credenza Plug-In Dimmer is easy to plug in and use. It does exactly what it's supposed to do. I used this on a picture light and it works beautifully.

I bought this to replace a dimmer which was incorporated...
I bought this to replace a dimmer which was incorporated in an expensive twenty-year old Italian-made table lamp. The built-in dimmer was a Lutron Credenza but the part is no longer sold as a stand-alone piece. I removed the faulty dimmer and plugged the lamp into this switch. Works great.

It needs a 3 prong end (with the ground) in...
It needs a 3 prong end (with the ground) in case you need to plug in a light that has a 3 prong. Now I have to use an adapter in between. I am plugging the cord end of a track light into it. It is a long bulky thing but the dimmer itself is very nice.

Easy to use and slide dimmer works smoothly. However, the dimming range is too limited. Still too bright at lowest dimming range. Need to use a bulb that us less bright but when full illumination is desired, it's not bright enough.
