Positively Practical
The electrician installed this dimmer where a regular light switch used to dwell. I decided this dimmer would be great in Baby's nursery, she won't be blinded for late night feedings. Not only that, but the little orange light that stays on throughout the night will help my eyes adjust as I grab Baby out of her crib! Thrilled with this purchase; from top to bottom the dimmer has a nice range of light it allows to shine. Very polished look, it's positively practical!

Very nice mid range slide dimmer with neon light
I've installed numerous Lutron dimmers in my own home and for friends and family members. I'm a maintenance electrician at a power generating station so I don't install these as part of my normal job duties but when friends and family know you're an electrician, then the requests pour in.
Anyways, this particular slide dimmer with the small neon night light are very useful for locating them in the middle of the night. The neon light is pretty small and orange in color so it will certainly not provide you with ample light for those looking for a true "night light". However the neon lamp really helps in locating the light switch in the middle of the night in pitch darkness. Rather than fumbling around the wall until you feel the switches, the soft glow of the neon lamp directs you to it without any guessing.
This is a single pole dimmer so it won't work in your hallway if you're using 3 way switches. Lutron makes 3 way slide dimmers but I haven't been able to find them with the neon night light.
The only drawback is the physical size of the dimmer's back housing which inserts into the switch box and it will take up lots of real estate compared to a standard switch. But this is common with most residential dimmers. Before considering using this or any other dimmer check and see if your switch box has the volume to safely hold the dimmer's back housing without overfilling the box. Overfilling is dangerous and can lead to overheating and potential fires.
If you're not sure if you have ample box space consult a qualified electrician before installing the dimmer.

This switch is well-built and enhances the room
The on/off function is sturdy and positive as is the slide adjustment. An excellent replacement for the knob-adjusted style I was previously using. And the night light feature is great as the room makes it very difficult to spot at night. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Good to have in a dark room
This is a great dimmable light switch that lets you see where it is, when you're in a darkened room. Easy to install, same dimensions as a regular on/off switch.

I love this product. It was very easy to install. I particularly like the srewless wall plate which dresses up the finished installation. So many times, the paint gets scraped off of the screw heads which makes for a sloppy look. The nightlight is also a nice touch. Great value purchase.

Looks and Works Nice
I installed it to control a pair of recessed lights over my fireplace. It was easy to install and it looks and works nicely. A little light lights up above the switch when it's off, so you can find it in the dark I guess.
I installed it in a 3 gang box, next to a fan control, and a regular light switch. I actually wanted to install this dimmer next to the fan control but because they are both wide, I had to rearrange and put the light switch in the middle, which is skinnier. I could have snapped off the little metal pieces on the dimmer like the instructions said I could, but I didn't want to compromise the load capacity.

easy to install
This dimmer switch is easy to install, even for a novice. I installed it with my under cabinet lights in my kitchen and now I have the extra lighting I wanted and the look that my wife wanted.
