A hole which should have been drilled into the unit was not present.

It leaked on install but Moen Customer Service fired a new insert out the same day - no questions asked. Sometimes the service is the most important part of the product.

The solid brass valve with removable valve is everything I expected.

As John said below,the inner workings of this cartridge are poorly constructed. Mine has been installed for a little over a year and have already stripped out. Now my shower wont turn off. Luckily, when I constructed the shower I Ieft access to the cartridge through the rear wall for this exact reason, so changing it wont be as big of a problem as it could have been. Still doesn't excuse the fact that this lasted less than a year.

Valve was made well and was exact replacement. Installed without a hitch

The valve seems to be exactly what I need. I am reinstalling a shower enclosure.

I prefabricated all copper tubing and soldered them prior to installation. When it came time to install I "sweated" the caps off the existing hot/cold lines and had only two joints to solder on the coupling that joined my prefab part. No leaks functioned as expected. Buy the threaded positemp control if you might need to salvage and reuse it in the future. That way you can cut the lines and unscrew the connections.

The only thing which could have made this even easier to install would have been if it came with sharkbite connectors instead of the threaded connections. I mounted threaded<->sharkbite connectors to all 4 connections and work from there with PEX.

Some of the inner works of this valve are made of plastic. Only had for 18 months and it stripped. What makes it a bigger issue is once it was installed it becomes a huge headache and expense to change it since a ceramic surround was installed.

I had a plumber do the installation and this is what he wanted. Did not take him long and it works as advertised.

We have these same items in our other bath and love they way they look. We are remodeling our master so wanted what we put in there ot match our other bath. We are putting a whirlpool in so ordered the Roman faucet for it. I was so happy that Home Depot had these items online as we had to order the others from an online site and we had some issues with getting wrong items and having to return etc. So far all is well with these

To prevoius review; you installed valve upside down in wall. As a plumber I highly reccomend Moen products.

I bought this product because they were suppose to be and use to be a very good brand. I bought my whole new bathroom faucets in this brand and I'm very dissapointed. When I turn the water for the bath the shower head runs because this valve will not handle our water pressure. Its also a valve that is suppose to be universal for 2 or 3 different faucets so its not tight fitting!!! I'm just so dissapointed we gutted our bathroom and was redoing in the hopes of having a beautiful and peaceful bathrooom not so with a shower head that leaks when your bath is running!!!
