I purchased this peel and stick wallpaper even after reading the reviews saying it bubbles. I figured it must be application error so i followed the instructions to a T and my husband and I spent 7 hours installing it on our 9’ x 12’ feature wall. We instantly loved this wallpaper and then the bubbles began. They first showed up hours later and no matter what we tried to get rid of them they came back. After realizing we wasted our time we decided to pull it all down and put up the same pattern wallpaper in the prepasted version. I wish we did that day 1! Not only does the prepasted look great but it was easier to apply (only took 4 hrs) and no bubbles! My only complaint about the prepasted is we can see the seams. My guess is thats half DIY imperfection and half the products fault since its dark navy with white backing. I hope my review saves you from a wasted Saturday. Two stars because we love the pattern.
This peel and stick paper is honesty awesome. It looks so classic and is very user friendly. The edges don’t peel up like some peel and stick papers. I would suggest getting one of those scraper things and exacto knife to flatten any bubbles and get straight cuts. It helped to have my husband assist me for getting started with each strip. I used it for an accent wall in my kitchen.
I honestly have no idea how this gets such good ratings. My husband and I are what I would consider proficient DIYers so this did not intimidate us at all. We followed the directions, prepped the walls, and this stuff DOES NOT STICK!! It bubbles, it peels off, and we've spent so much time trying to smooth it out, even going so far as to purchase wallpaper glue and actually glue it down and that still hasn't fixed the problem. Meanwhile, I bought regular (non peel and stick) in this same pattern and did one wall with that and it laid down beautifully and hasn't budged. I really wanted to love this and the idea that it could be easily removed was appealing but man is it frustrating that we have to remove it all and replace it with old fashioned regular wallpaper because this looks terrible. Pictures attached.
Looked great at first! I was in love with this wallpaper...but after 5 months it is all bubbled and will no longer stick to wall. Have to remove. So disappointed!!! Pretty expensive for a product that only lasts a few months!
So disappointing. The patter and color are great, the material thickness is nice, install was easy, it was shaping up to be the perfect accent wall in our daughters nursery. However several weeks later an entire sheet peeled away! Literally started at the top and peeled away from the wall into a pile on the floor. The rest of the seams are peeling away too, It looks terrible and won't seal back up not to mention the sheet that peeled back is permanently stuck to itself so it's trash. Now we have to remove the rest. Keep in mind our walls were freshly painted 2 weeks prior to install, we followed all of the install instructions and for the first few weeks it looked great. For how expensive this stuff is I expected waaayy more.
Super easy to put up and was easy to adjust as needed and looks great! Love the pattern. The ink is a little raised, and occasionally smeared when I was smoothing it out on the wall. It's not very noticeable though. And, the paper is a little thin, so you can see color variations on the wall behind it. In hindsight, I would have made sure the walls behind it were all consistently painted white.
We just welcomed a new baby and my wife was pretty jazzed about adding an accent wall to the nursery. We did old school wallpaper in another room many years ago and it just wasn't that great of an experience. It looked good but the install and eventual removal was such a hassle. I vowed to never do that again but was convinced to give the peel and stick a shot. So far I'm pleasantly surprised. The install went really well, it's quite impressive how you can make adjustments along the way to ensure things stay lined up. I think the seams ended up fairly decent which is the hardest part. If you just barely overlap you can see the white that is the side of the paper and obviously if you have any gap you'd see the color of the wall. If i did it again I may paint that wall to match the paper so you could hide any imperfections. Either way you'd only notice these things if you got up close and were looking for it otherwise it looks great!
Pros: Easy to Install, High Quality of Material, Looks Great
This peel and stick wall paper has a great look and is a quick, easy and reversible way to improve the look of a room without expensive costs or major renovations. The paper is thick and high quality, and able to be repositioned during the install process. I love the fact that no messy glue is needed and the paper is removable if you want to change it out. We had problems with a few pieces not adhering properly and coming undone in spots, this is after prepping the room by removing fixtures, etc, then washing the walls. The pattern makes install easy, and easy to match up the pattern from adjoining pieces. The pattern also makes it easy to blend and hide uneven, un-level, or un-plumb walls and corners (our home is old and the walls are very uneven). We applied this to a medium darkness, eggshell sheen painted wall, and the background color does cause the white portion to darken slightly, so I assume if you were trying to cover mismatched walls or other irregularities, it would show through. The paper does scratch easy if using a metal straight edge, I also scratched the paper with my ring a few times during installation. ( I recommend a plastic straight edge and a fresh sharp razor blade for making cuts) Another drawback is the rolls are only 20 feet long, so for a standard 8 ft tall ceiling height, this is only 2 vertical strips and a short leftover piece, a longer roll is available, and should be considered if you are making a lot of vertical runs. It does have a slight odor, similar to linoleum during install, but went away the next day. This product is made in the USA.
Pros: Easy to Install, Good Size & Weight, Looks Great, Nice Design, removable, made in usa
Cons: scratches easily during install, peeling up, 20 ft long rolls
I have used york peel and stick wall paper in the past and have liked it and this was no exception. My wife LOVES the look of this, it actually has a little texture to it on the print that you can feel. It is very thick and high quality.
As far as install goes, it is really pretty easy, as long as you get the first piece level. That was the hardest part for me, but only because the left corner where i started wasn't level. But once I got that set the next pieces took not time at all.
And the glue is great, it's easy to attach and pull back off to re position.
Pros: Easy to Install, Excellent Quality, High Quality of Material, Looks Great, Nice Design, Rich Looking
