Thanks for sharing the feedback on our rug pad products. Our non-skid backing does have a distinct smell from the rubber backing. This smell is inherent to the product and is considered part of the normal process and will typically dissipate over a couple days. Recently, we have received numerous complaints across all our selling channels that the odor is more than what we would normally expect. We are taking the complaints seriously and are pursuing several initiatives to determine the root cause of this stronger smell. Based on the information we have to date; we believe the odor is most likely contaminated dye that is added to the latex for the color. This was identified several months back by our vendor, and the dye was returned. It’s possible we have some older inventory that was not disposed of that could have been part of this isolated event. Our quality team is in the process of checking all inventory 3 months or older for the offensive odor and ensure these items are pulled from our shippable inventory.
