My old doorbell button is all plastic, and it was slowly starting to crack. It was working fine, but I knew it was time for a replacement. The location of the doorbell gets exposed to most of the harsh sunlight, and I am glad I got this new round wired push button is not all plastic, it has Satin Nickel metal on the casing. This material will surely last a long time. It works like a charm, and the installation was quick and easy. I like the clear plastic around the button allow the LED light to shine. Now people can easily see and ring the doorbell at night. It goes perfectly next to my front door, and it is well-made.

A product from Newhouse Hardware this doorbell promises to be a nice looking addition to our front entrance. It is a 2-1/2 inch round oil rubbed bronze push button, lighted doorbell meant for a single ring bell only. (Will not work for a chime or melodic doorbell) Easy assembly with a two wire hook up on the back. A pinch bar on the back holds it securely in place to the wall.

This is a clean simple design door bell push button that relies on two spring tabs on the back to hold it against the wall. After connecting the bell wires to the button the two spring tabs will need to be squeezed to gather and pushed into the hole in the stucco where the wire comes out. Seems a bit hit or miss as to how well it will stay put on the wall. The surface on the metal is silver, has a slight texture and a satin (rather than glossy) finish. It's not like the "brushed nickel" finishes you see on plumbing fixture, etc but none the less is fine. The bulb seems to be a regular incandescent rather than an LED, but gives an adequate ring of light around the button so that it can be seen in the dark. For the price it seems a reasonable value. I'm not sure how durable the finish on it is.

This is a good-looking traditional style lighted doorbell, bright enough that a visitor at night will spot it easily. Nicely finished in polished brass, it features a white plastic lighted button, with a clear plastic mounting ring around it that looks very stylish. It is designed to be mounted in either a new or existing location, and is provided with a spring steel friction clip, no screws required, so it is ideal for an exterior wall finished in Stucco. It will work just as well in wood, brick or masonry. It requires a bored hole at least 1 ½” in diameter to install it. This is a standard two wire pushbutton switch with small Philips head brass screw terminals to attach the wires. In an existing location, as a replacement, you simply disconnect the old doorbell, pulling the wires out just far enough to make the connections, which have no polarity to worry about. Older Doorbells are normally powered by a standard 16-volt transformer located inside in a dry location, which is often on the ceiling in the basement if not wired directly to the chime itself. If you are replacing a non-functioning doorbell, check the power source and the wires at the doorbell itself with a voltmeter, before just assuming it is the doorbell switch that has failed. For use in an existing structure, for example on a door with no existing doorbell, drill no holes before doing a thorough inspection to be sure there are no wall studs or other circumstance that will make it too difficult to run wire inside the wall to the pushbutton, or opt for a wireless model, perhaps for the entire house, where no wiring or connections are required.

This is an inexpensive but very usable door bell button. It's not heavy duty, but for our rentals, it's excellent. Mounts quickly and has proven relaible here in the heat of the southwest. It goes with any decor and the light really helps at night. We found it also works very well as a garage door opener button, and even as in a senior center, it's a solid bedside alarm. Is it going to last twenty years? No. But at this price, if I replace them all in ten, it's a bargain.

This door bell works great and while not exactly what I expected, it worked out just as well or better, than what I planned. I was able to put one at both the front and back door. Installation is simple with just a two wire system and anyone with a little mechanical aptitude should be able to install it. I would order again and would definitely recommend it to anyone needing a doorbell button.

Just an average product. In the trades it is what is referred to as “builder grade” which, loosely translated means that it is not of a great quality. These door bells are decently constructed with plenty of average quality and like years of service can be expected. There are no install instruction included with the product which leave the average DIYer wondering. The unit is a friction fit which is nice having a screwless appearance upon installing. Not great as a replacement given how this installs as opposed to many others and compatibility issue that could arise.

The main reason i bought this doorbell was the finish matched my door handle and lock set. Never changed a door bell before so i thought i would give it a shot. What i liked about it was how easy the install was. 2 wires. Switch the 2 wires to the new door bell and tested it. It was on immediately. It attaches with a friction fitting. Thats it. The button light was pretty bright but it showed around the uneven stucco so i pulled it out and added a small bead of caulk to seal it up. Worked great. Happy with my choise and would recommend it.

2-1/2 in. Round Wired Lighted Door Bell Push Button, Satin Nickel has proven to be a highly functional door bell button. Unlike to standard rectangular push buttons this device is easier to see from a distance. It is easy to install and accents the porch area very nicely. Overall, I would suggest this push button door bell ringer as a nice replacement or can be used for initial work or rewire. I would suggest this as a dependable choice.

This doorbell push button is made of light weight brass. It has the ability to completely cover a large hole caused by the removal of the previous button system. It doesn't need screws to attach to the wall and is easy to mount. There is a springy metal "wing" on the inside that holds it in place. It must be attached to the wired bell system by means of its two terminals. It is well made.

Very nice bush button door bell with a clean look and well made. The plate is made of stainless steel with a satin nickel finish, The button is made of plastic, The plastic around the button is clear for the light, The switch and wire connect screws are made of brass. If you are mounting it on a flat 2-1/2" or larger door trim then all you have to do is drill a 1-3/4" wide x 1-3/4" deep and then drill a hole for the wire. Run the wire thru the hole from the inside and connect it to the button. Run a bead of cocking around the inside lip of the plate. Slip one of the locking tabs in, Then push the other until it fits in the hole and then push the plate all the way in. Let the cocking dry completely and clean any excess cocking. Now your finished. I hope this helps. Good luck with your projects.

Good replacement for a back door push button. The brass is not as heavy as I would like it to be but it is better than most push button bells. It is very simple to wire and install and will probably cover the holes of your old push button bell. Your existing hole may need to be resized in order to accommodate the inserts and the new spring and round insert. Definitely looks much better than the plastic ones that you may find.

I was disappointed when I received these doorbell buttons. These are really cheap doorbell buttons. The metal is thin and the button is lightweight. The finish is a gritty, sandy textured surface that appears to be cheaply painted. Also, the button construction is quite weak. I took extra care (and patience) when I replaced my front and rear buttons. The button easily falls apart when unscrewing the wiring screws. One interesting feature is the mounting flange. These buttons have a butterfly flange that, when squeezed and pushed into the mounting hole, it pulls the button in and tightens the base to the wall. The button stays secure and there are no screws! This was the one nice feature of the button, but it's not enough to make it worth getting.
