The biggest mistake we made in remodeling our bathroom was choosing an Oatey drain! It was lovely for the first few months, but then the black coating started flecking off, revealing the bronze below. Was it a fluke? Since we couldn't get the drain cover alone, we purchased the entire fixture. Lo and behold, the black flecked off again. Our shower looks like crap and the only way to replace the drain for a different brand is to tear up the grout. What a mistake!

This drain allows for the conventional round drain with the addition of the square modern look that fit perfectly around the tile for a more secure seal. The cleaning of the product is simple and not time consuming needing multiple tools. just pop off. Beautiful addition for the DIY project.

Why does this drain only available in black a.b.s. why not in white as well. Does not have a hair strainer. But does the job.

This product collects soap scum this is my second cover not easy to clean as well

The price was fair. The screws holding the grate lost the black finish to them being exposed to water only. I can tell they use a different harder lighter plastic then Kohler.
