This product has actually had a successful class action lawsuit won against it, because it requires such a painstaking prep to get it right. We didn’t take all the precautions the first time and the product peeled badly within 3 years the first time, we did it right this time so we are hoping for better results. Looks fantastic though.

I painted my deck 6 years ago with Olympic Rescue and it is holding up very well. I just put another coat of Olympic Rescue on the surface areas to improve appearance and the paint is drying to same color as areas not re-painted at this time. In the attached picture it is hard to see the old vs new paint but I have only painted the inside rails and surface areas of the upper and lower decks. Just need to clean the other areas for now.

First off. This product should only be used for extremely old weathered decks or decks that have already been painted. If the wood on your deck is in decent shape. Power wash it and use a nice stain. Once you put this down. Consider it end game. This product is a durable paint type coating. If you search the net, you will find plenty of bad reviews about how this will peel and ruin your deck. This is not a miracle product. In my experience it will chip and start to peel. My deck lasted about three years before we had to reapply it this year. I will say that the product works as advertised. When we bought our house the rear deck was already ruined. It was the original wood with roughly 25yrs of neglect and a coat of cheap half worn off chipped paint on it. The wood was splintered and cracked. It was just not maintained at all. Since everything was still pretty much solid. We decided to rescue it. I will say I have been very happy with the results. It does a good job filling in cracks etc. It's durable but will not last forever. Keep that in mind.

Easy to apply and looks great.

We put it on our pool deck surface and it holds up well. My only complaint is it’s over price and sold as 3 gallons, when it’s really only two point something gallons.

Done all aspects as said to do before applying such as cleaning all wood very good let wood dry out couple weeks applying to Coates after painting deck not had rain 35 days so I was hoping product does its part we really love texture.

This is a total waste of money. It failed to fill in gaps of 1/16th inch. I would have been better off just buying paint. Save your money.

This is a pretty thick paint. It should last.

I like the paint so far. Burt it hasn’t been on long. My issue is with the delivery. So far I ordered 8 gallons and gave only received two. 4 were damaged in transit and have been refunded. 2 should be on their way. No help from Home Depot to address the way they are packaged for delivery.

I highly recommend this outdoor deck paint. Especially if your deck is lookin dreadful. This paint is really thick, so it covered up the mess we had on our hands.

Excellent product, easy to apply and the deck looks entirely redone. Very satisfied!

I ordered this online and they didn’t tint it

So many reviews here state to contact the manufacturer to determine how long the product will last. Here is their reply "Depending on the condition of the surface, and the environmental and use conditions, it may last anywhere from 2-3 year to 15+ years." That's a huge range. I even gave them my location. They should just answer that here for everyone else

I am very satisfied sealing up OSB (on top of PT ply) for a shed floor. I did follow directions exactly and did notice (being in MS) that it did not spread well and dried to fast at 91- this is clearly in the instructions, read them if in the deep South. In any case I waited the 72 hours after coat two for furniture and I did not mar the surface building or placing a fairly large desk, not a bit.

It is good paint, I put it over an existing Trex painted surface. The only issue was I used one coat but on the label it says best if you use two coats when I asked re: the size of the area, to buy a gallon, which would not have done two coats. Also it was tacky feeling when walked on, many days after painting.

This paint did what it was supposed to do.
