Nippers are great to have to get those pesky areas on tiling but this one is very over sized for my hands and to actually finally get the action to occur is too much on one arm alone, would have to operate with two arms. Sturdy but lacks functionality.

I use these to resize tile for broken tile mosaics. The cushioned handles and compound mechanism allow me to use it for hours at a time without fatiguing.

When my husband decided to select his own tools and install the backsplash in our kitchen himself, no one was more skeptical than I....the picture says it all. This tool was an excellent choice.

Tool simply did what you bought it to do and did it very well.

This is a solid set of nippers. I've used it on ceramic floor tile and it comes in handy to get the right fit on some of the odd shapes you may encounter. (Particularly around the bath tub and toilet flange). It took a little bit to get used to as far as how much you can snip at a time. Best advice is go slow and take a little bit at a time. If you try to do too much at once you likely won't get the cut you wanted.

Bottom Line: no force improvement and no better than my old tile nipper Much longer version: I have a non-compound tile nipper that I have used many times over the past decade. It can be difficult at times to nip with precision, or ease. I assumed that a compound version would be easier to use in terms of force required, and more precise because I could back off on the strength and focus on the angles and precision. Unfortunately, that is NOT the case w/ this compound tile nipper. First and foremost: I noticed no "ease in use" compared to my non-compound nipper. I expected these to require far less strength to break through tile, but they did not. Note that I did not use any sort of gauge, meter, or force measuring test to determine how much force was actually required for precise comparison. But since I could not notice any difference AT ALL between this nipper and my old one, on the same piece of ceramic tile - multiple cuts, multiple angles - I am left only with the conclusion that there is no increased mechanical advantage with this compound nipper. Because the force required was exactly the same as my old version, precision was no better. Some cuts / nips were good, some were not. Finally, the carbide cutting tips are separated by almost twice the distance when closed compared with my old nipper. Maybe this doesn't make a difference as they did still cut through tile, but I felt like it was another contributor to its overall average performance - especially when coupled with its total lack of force improvement. Other than being fairly sturdy, and looking fancy, these are a disappointment. If you are buying a nipper, save the extra money for something else.

That tool helped me a lot i a job where my tile saw was far away. Recommend to buy.

I was expecting to be like a pair of scissors for tile. Cuts are not very precise.

A necessity if you're tiling your shower or bath! I opted for this pair of nippers because it takes almost no hands strength to get a good clean bite off the tile end.

Didn’t cleanly cut the tile. It broke far past the area I was trying to cut

Got the job done and was very effective.

The locking mechanism is in the way. I have no idea why the hook goes under and not over. It get in the way of the handle and makes closing it impossible as there is no room and the hook either jams I to the rubber handle or hooks itself onto the little rivet. Why does the hook not hook over the rivet - why did they make it so it is crammed into the rubber handle? So confused. On top of that the gap is 1/4 inch thick and cannot cut thinner than that. No idea why this gets great reviews,Returned.

Okay nippers. A little bit big for my needs on small pieces.
