Purchased to fill the rafters (but also used to fill some gaps along the wall as well), it was in stock and available at our local store and although not the best value option, the fact it was available without having to order made the little extra spent worth it.

This mineral wool product is dense and sized to be pushed between 16" oc 2x6 stud walls. It is very easy to install and far less irritating dust than fiberglass. When installation is completed in any room, there is a noticeable reduction of echo when walking on raw wood floors or with talking. I am thrilled with it also being a fire retardant and water repellent. Cuts easily for outlets, power or water lines, or just odd shaped bays. A relatively expensive product, but anyone can install this insulation so you can certainly save on installation costs.

This should make regular fiberglass insulation obsolete
I'm remodeling my 1950 mid century modern home one room at a time. I started with the hardest room to heat & cool, knocked out the old plaster & had the room sprayed with rigid & soft foam. The guys rushed the job & left some thin spots and even bare wood showing thru. I wanted to fill voids with Roxul but could not find it anywhere in Oklahoma so I hung the drywall anyway. Since then I've found a dealer 30 miles from me that can order it. I've since used Roxul in my sun room & garage. I like it better than the foam & I can easily install it myself.

Better Conformance to Joist Spacing
Fiberglass batts depend on springback to original shape, from large compression in packaging. That springiness then results in buckling if a bit oversize for the space. Rockwool doesn't do this. Lost contact with confining surfaces destroys insulation value.

I am using this to fill in my cathedral ceilings. The rafters are 2"x8"s and with this R23 batting (2x6 for 16" centers), I am able to leave an air gap from the eaves to the ridge venting. I was concerned with my rafters having slight bowing here and there might cause problems with the rockwool staying in place with just compressed friction (squeezing it into place). Not a problem. With any gaps less than 14", I shaved some off the batt with a fine-tooth hack saw like cutting a long loaf of bread. Any gaps greater than 15", I simply added those shaved lengths into the squeeze. You will definitely want to wear gloves. The itch and dust is NOT terrible, but long sleeves, goggles (or safety glasses), and a dust mask may be in order. I try not looking straight up (I'm using scaffolding), but still get dust in my eyes on occasion. I've hung most of this without the dust-mask, glasses, and long sleeves because it all makes me sweat. Be sure to shower immediately afterwards or you will be rubbing dust into your eyes and skin. Again, much better than fiberglass on every level. Hoping to finish soon. Good luck on your project.

130 year old church restoration, ideal product
Installing comfort batt insulation in the walls and floor of a 130 year old William Critchlow Harris church/cottage upgrade. As this structure is a 'balloon' design, fire concern was paramount. Simple installation even with so many cuts, and huge long term benefits. Ideal application for your product.

We won't use anything but this product in our builds!
We do both custom and high volume manufacturing for tiny homes on wheels. It's important to us that the products we spec out to use are easy to install and work effectively for our applications. This product does exactly that. Sounds carry far and wide even in tiny homes. So, when we have new families moving into a small space, this product makes an excellent noise dampener in between closed off rooms to provide an element of privacy where it can normally be hard to find. Nevermind its obvious positives, this product is just far superior at the end of the day. It's our gold standard for each home that we send out of our shop and it makes us proud!

I WILL BUY THIS PRODUCT OVER & OVER & OVER AGAIN!!!!
Ive been a fan of Roxul aka "Rockwool" ever since Mike Holmes Introduced it to his show Holmes on Homes. Had to wait a couple of years before it came to the States but when it did, i was elated!!! I got to try the water test and burning it, and boy was it amazing, just as described and show. I will never ever use the pink insulation ever again!! Re-insulating that garage picture i sent you in 90degree heat, after done that garage kept a temp of 70 degrees, i was extremely impressed!! ROXUL HEAD 4 LIFE!!!!!!!

This stuff is great. It holds its shape and completely fills the intra-stud space. We haven't moved into our new room yet, but I can already tell that its sound attenuation is great (seems significantly better than fiberglass batts). The downside is it takes a while to get one's order through Home Depot - some other suppliers are much faster, though. I wish a full line of Roxul was carried in store!

Outstanding affordable an easy to work with product
My first time using Comfortbatt insulation. I was very impressed with ease of cutting and installation no staples and minimum mess. I can't see fiberglass insulation even coming close to real world insulating and sound suppression of the Roxul product there is no comparison in the density of these two products.
Great for builds that incorporate odd and angled framing dimensions. Slightly higher cost than traditional fiberglass batting but I am sure we will see the return in energy savings. Did I mention no itching!!

NEVER BUY ANY OTHER BRAND AGAIN!!
We use Roxul on every renovation product we do. Insulated a Garage in 95 degree heat, when the garage maintained a 72 degree temperature. It cuts cost on heating and cooling a house bc of the far superior insulation properties is has over other brands. It won't sag over time either like other brands, making your house envelope not sealed. Ever since mike holmes introduced it on his show, i was waiting for it to come to the United states. I would like for Roxul to be an industry standard in the building trade and put those "other" companies out of business lol.

Excellent product, I would always choose to use
This product was great to fully insulate my husband's outdoor cookhouse for fall and winter use. The cedar cabin was not fully water tight but is now and if this material gets a bit wet it doesn't affect it.

Weekend project in with limited space
Unlike a job site, I have limited time and space to work on project in my own home. I came up with this way to use a few pieces of insulation at a time while keeping the remaining pieces confined to the original package dimension. The attached image shows a package with 5 pieces removed.

As with any insulation, much cutting and trimming is required (so a good insulation knife and sharpener is highly recommended). Good snug cavity fills and easy handling, as well as a +4 R rating over fiberglass batts make the add cost well worth the investment. Highly recommend if a well insulated and quiet home is your goal. I used it in side walls whereas blownin can be used in attic.

The torch on a batt sold me years ago.
The very first time I saw ROXUL at a show and there was a torch up against it and not burning at all. It has been nothing but ROXUL that I have used in any renovation.

Excellent product, easy install, way better performance
Have used Roxul in bedroom walls, mudroom floor walls and cathedral ceiling, and basement walls. This is so easy to use, fits extremely well and reduces air movement in joist spaces. I have tested the way it repels moisture and held a propane torch to it. Just amazing and feel safer in my old home with it in the walls.
The only negatives I have experience are that it is a bit tricky to install between old rough sawn studs and that the two pieces in the ends of the package take a while to "fluff up" after opening.

ComfortBatt is the Best!
My boyfriend and I were remodeling the attic space in our 1950s home. The old insulation was gross and we were finishing the attic to be more useful. We loved the quality of Roxul as we had used the safe and sound previously. Knowing we needed a higher R rating, we chose ComfortBatt as our preferred insulation. It is SO MUCH EASIER and less messy than the pink rolled stuff! We knew we had to make a lot of cuts, since our joists were not 16 on center, and the serrated bread knife is the perfect tool. Would totally recommend this to anyone, do not waste your money on another product.

I only buy Roxul for my Renovations, again and again.
I only use Roxul, I know I put price as a Con but I would price as a Con for everything. I worked once with Fibreglass 30 years ago and never again. I am presently removing all the sagging Fibreglass insulation from my home and replacing it all with Roxul insulation. I have also built a new 30'x40' Garage last year and insulating it completely with Roxul insulation.
Thank you

Love love this product!
We are renovating our mini home after some very serious rot and mold remediation, and are re-insulating with roxul! The floors are warmer, and we look forward to the heat savings this winter from upping our R-value in every possible way. Thank you for making a safe and effective product!

No reason to use the traditonal pink fiberglass anymore!
Of course if you want a premium product, the cost will always be more. It is a great product to work with over the traditional pink insulation and its R values are higher. I like the rigidity of the product and like how it stays together. I like how obstacles can be precisely cut out so there's no thermal loss. It fits around wires nicely and can be cut to smaller sizes to accommodate items such as recess can housings.

Happy with a safe, quiet basement
I used this throughout my basement remodel. I'm a novice to say the least, so it was nice to find something for insulation that was easy to install and satisfied our needs. We wanted sound proofing and insulating properties. This took care of both!

I would buy this again and recommend it for others!
As a Board member for the Warner Historical Society, this product was recommended to the Building and Grounds Committee to save energy for our Main Street House attic (one of three buildings we maintain.) The fire resistant quality of the product was a bonus! The existing insulation was minimal and the attic area was not usable for storage. As co-chair of the Committee, I purchased this product for the Society and organized a work crew to add this insulation to our attic area and top it off with new plywood for additional storage area. This is a preferred product to work with! The Board's reaction was "WOW!"

Highly recommended, superior performance batt insulation
ROXUL ComfortBatt provides superior thermal performance that you can depend on. As a contractor, time means money on the job site, and ROXUL installs quickly and easily. As a real estate expert, it always comes down to return on investment. ROXUL checks that box, as well. Top that with the added benefits of being fire and water resistant, plus GreenGuard certified for indoor air quality, and you've got the ideal thermal insulation. As a family man, that added protection is important. It's why I chose ROXUL ComfortBatt for my own home.
