          easy up
I have installed 8 bags so far in the floor of my camp, product installs very easy. There were approx. 1-2 peices per bag that lacked rigidity to hold it in the bays, what I mean is each peice has a rigid side and a soft side these peices were both soft sides. Quality control should be payed more attention

Despite the pictures of people who obviously don't care about themselves.....you should absolutely wear protective clothing, gloves and Mask/Respirator when handling this material. (Note: You must be fitted for a Respirator through your doctor) This stuff is VERY itchy and NOT GOOD TO BREATH IN.

              Always use Rockwool
I have used this in every new build I have done. There are so many positives to using mineral wool to other insulation products. Rockwool brand is the best product on the market

                Great insulation
Extremely easy to work with. Great insulation for my old house with 2x6 ceiling joists.

                  Roxul Batt Insulation
I've installed WAY too much fiberglass batt in my life! Roxul is the BEST! High R-val (R-15 in a 2x4 wall). Easy to cut w/ bread knife; allows accurate cutting. Minimal masking required, minimal (if any) itch. Nice fit in standard frame cavities.

I had seen this installed on Home improvement shows so it worked as I expected during installation. VERY easy to cut and much easier to install than fiberglass. No stapling. It wedged in between the joists and stayed in place until I got the drywall installed. Denser than fiberglass, which is probably why it has a slightly higher R-value than fiberglass of the same thickness (R-23 versus R-21). I installed this over my kitchen so I like that it is water and mold resistant as well as fire resistant. I will warn you it is somewhat fragile but if you are aware of this and handle it accordingly it is not a problem. Also there is less "itch" than with fiberglass.

My heating bills are down $700 this year
I ripped open my exterior walls and ceiling in the rear of the house. R30 Rockwool on the side walls and r23 becuase of the 2x6 framing on the rear wall. I put r30 in the ceiling between me and my upstairs tenant. At the end of the heating budget year, my heating bill was down $700. Rockwool is more expensive than some other insulations but the ease of installation, the fire retardant properties, the noise deafening properties with the large savings in heating bills makes the investment worth it.

Great, but not the end-all-be-all for fiberglass
I will say the benefits of using Rockwool over fiberglass are numerous; mainly the fact it cuts so easily and is very dense. The problem is this product is very fragile. If your installation doesn't involve clean, wide open, easily accessible stud/rafter/joist bays, you may run in to problems. Its inability to flex or compress means the first time you hit a wire or pipe or some other kind of interference, and start shoving, the insulation literally falls apart in big chunks and pieces. It really made quite the mess of my basement when I was trying to work it around some wiring. Also, please note you still need to wear glasses, gloves, cover your skin, and wear a face mask. It's not nearly as itchy and irritating as fiberglass, but it made enough dust I still needed a shower afterwards when working with it above my head. I also made the mistake of not wearing a face mask, and felt that familiar scratchy throat feeling anyone who has used fiberglass knows. So, it's still a pretty good product if you have evenly spaced open bays and take proper protective precaution.

Awesome product. Easy to cut and install. I’ve never done insulation before. Insulated the exterior walls in my new construction home in just a few days all by myself.
