Great tool to use all around in the yard

I have been a Ryobi fan since the tools were blue & gold color. Unfortunately I had to return this tool after one use. After finding it difficult tighten the chain between cuts, I opened up the tool to see that the internal housing (plastic) was damaged to where the moving parts (metal) were no longer attached. Hence, why I could not tighten the chain utilizing the screw per the instructions.

I like the saw a lot, but it is a bit unwieldy with the extension on it as the balance changes drastically. If you're young and strong, it's no problem, but as a 75 year-old who has lost muscle tone it's tough. Starting my daily regimen of strength training again. :-)

Worked well and easy to use. Set up was easy and saw is sturdy .

I previously used an A/C powered pole saw where the chain needed oiling. In addition to the lengthy power cord long enough to reach my trees and the constant oiling plus the chain often coming off the bar, I couldn’t just trim my limbs quickly. I quickly became frustrated with even just thinking about keeping my trees trimmed. I had already purchased other Ryobi 18V battery powered shop and yard tools which worked quickly and with little prep time and effort. Then I saw the Ryobi brushless/oilless 18Volt pole saw came on the market. I purchased the Ryobi pole saw, put it together quickly and with little to no prep time I began trilling my front and backyard tree limbs. I immediately advertised my A/C pole saw at a very low price on Craig’s List and got calls right away. The 1st person came out, tested it and went away happy either saw and the price.

The thing is: you're requiring a rating before I've opened the box. The helpfulness of the people and their expertise is excellent and all I can comment on at this time. Also, why I keep coming back.

super impressed. On one charge this thing went for hours. I was to tired to hold it before it lost its charge. It cut through branches that were as long as the blade with ease.

Great when cutting down but when cutting underneath a limb is wants to jump all over the place.

The Pole Saw (tool only) was easy to find. I had 2 other Ryobi tools that used an 18V battery so had 2 batteries. It was important to find one that used the 18V battery. There is a longer Ryobi pole saw that uses a larger battery so I made sure to get the right one. I brought the pole home, it was easy to assemble, popped in the 18V battery, it worked fine, then it was easy to tighten the chain and I am ready for more trimming.

Easily cuts high limbs. 4ah battery life is very good.

Easy assembly and just tweeked the chain tightener and went to work.

This pole saw is easy to use and works great. It has saved me about 5 hours of working time in the last 2 weeks.

Use in yard is great compact enough for what I need for.

Delivered on time. Packaging and product had no damage. Pole saw assembly was minimal. It's my first time using a chain saw and pole saw and I wasn't intimidated yet I was impressed with its power. The saw end is heavy enough that when the extension is attached, it makes it a bit wiggly. The whole tool (trigger end, middle pole, saw end) doesn't feel solid all put together but it does what it suppose to do. The strap that comes with it comes in handy. My favorite part of the whole experience was getting a great deal.

This is a superb tool & works extremely well. Battery charges fast & plenty of power for about an hour of on again, off again use. No lubricant is needed. I was up in a 40 foot tree using the full 9 foot saw and was excellent. You need to have strength to hold the pole as the saw apparatus does have a few pounds of weight to it. You can also remove the middle piece for a 6 foot pole. This product exceed my expectations! Highly recommend this pole saw! PS. Make sure you strap yourself in if using in a tree - easy to slip while holding the saw. There is a claw/hook on the saw head you can use to hook onto a branch as you climb & descend. Free delivery made it even better!

Worked great! A little top heavy but works as expected. Glad I bought it.
