Probably well-engineered, but the quality control of some of the plastic meant I had to dig into my toolbox and loose screws to make it work. There is a bellows that is supposed to supply the flexibility for the long arm that delivers the air. There are two clamps, one for each side of the bellows, that are supposed to squeeze slotted ridges onto the the blower housing (the duct coming from the unit) and the throttle control tube. The idea is sound, but the type of plastic, on both the blower housing and (even worse) on the throttle control tube, don't have enough rigidity--so the clamped joints give way with hardly any pressure. I had to put four self-tapping screws (two on top and two on bottom) of each joint (total of eight screws) to be sure the joints would remain intact. I'm being pretty ginger, swinging my body more than my arm, just to make sure I don't have to do anymore of my own engineering. I've only used it three times, so I can't comment on how the entire unit will/does hold-up. Bottom line: I expected better; now that I've got it going, it seems . . . fine.

So I bought this backpack blower today, put together in 5 mins. added fuel primed bulb and started on second crank! I tried it out moving leaves and small branches from live oak in my back yard! It actually surprised me that it had that much power! Can't wait to bring it to my camp and clean up there also it should cut my cleaning time in half! It's not very heavy and pretty comfortable on your back!

This backpack blower is a beast!... I put it together in just a few minutes and was blowing leaves in my backyard right away...I have heard from my neighbor and coworker about this leaf blower and finally my handheld unit was beginning to lose power so I made the purchase of this Ryobi blower... It's awesome! Great buy too....

Super easy to put together. Incredibly comfortable to wear. I’m in the Professional Landscaping Business (Selling not Operating) but am very familiar with all our equipment and have used our Pro Husqvarna Blowers. Have to say that I was impressed by the overall quality and power of this Ryobi.

  • Don't waste your money

This product is the absolute worst that I have ever bought. Put non ethanol fuel mixed with the supplied oil and it ran for about 10 minutes and then would not start for about a half hour. It did this repeatedly. Do not waste your money on this junk.

Met all expectations. Moves a lot of leaves, even couple inches of snow from driveway and sidewalks. I would like to see a better buckle system for upper and install a lower front buckle. I still give 5 stars. I like this machine and I did many comparisons. To get this power you will need to spend hundreds more.

The blower is very good at what it is suppose to do, blows very well, but it is VERY VERY loud (like strapping a Cessna engine on your back) and it eats gas for lunch dinner and breakfast the next day.
