I bought what I thought was a most efficient water heater and although it may be efficient, it is also difficult to live with!! The sensors on this unit are so sensitive that it shuts down at every turn!! First it says there is not enough air flow so you can't shut the door on the closet if you want hot water. Now the problem is a detection of flammable substance that will require a service call!! What happened to the maintenance FREE systems??

I bought this one over the recommendations of the sales person at Home Depot. I do not blame him, he was trying to recommend a cheaper model. But I made wanted this one. I am impressed with the way it went in so easily, and how it works. It is an awesome heater.

After researching available water heaters I decided on this one for the following reasons: 1) It feeds air from above floor level, which doesn't require frequent cleaning by either me or the plumber because of clogged floor-level vents; 2) it is approved by PG&E because of superior efficiency; 3) a PG&E refund allowed a more expensive model, which didn't cost more after figuring in the rebate. All of these points have worked out to be as hoped. This heater allows my husband to take longer showers (not really cost-effective {which I discourage} but it makes him happy, and our gas bills haven't reflected these L-O-N-G showers because of the efficiency of the unit. It's been a great purchase!

I bought this 3 weeks ago, it works well, although there are some problems after installation, tech people here back and forth, finally the problem solved.

Its economical, and I love the features like the electric anodes for the pilot light, the 90 FHR, and the .67 efficiency ( qualifies for PG&E rebate. And most of all I'm a techy do I like the Wifi to allow my to have notifications in case of leaks.

I have had the unit installed for about 2 weeks now. i did the install myself and all connections were straight forward. The wifi add on was a very nice touch as I feel this will just allow better adjustment of temperature if ever needed. I do look forward to automating the vacation schedule...maybe using it a few hours every night and link it to overall home presence to save even more energy

I compared this model against several other brands and models and this Rheem hot water heater was the best of price and features.

Bought this and installation was straightforward and easy to understand. Water heater has performed flawlessly.

When installed, found vapor sensor defective -- causing us a couple days of cold water. When new vapor sensor located locally, that fixed the problem and it's been working great ever since. Lots of hot water for my long showers.

Not that happy with it. Takes forever to get warm let alone get hot.

This product is great. I highly recommend it. Water is always hot when I need it. Wifi option is great too

I installed this water heater less than one month ago and it's already giving problems. The flammable vapors sensor locks the controls out after a cycle or two causing me to have to manually rest the thermostat.

Only installed last weekend. So far so good. Glad I increased to 50 gal. Install was fairly easy according to installer. Up and running in under 2 hours

Plenty of hot water and good recovery time. Will save us a bundle versus our old electric water heater.

I purchased few days ago, and installation went very smooth, with no surprises.

Just replace a 20 year old with this. Only 2 day in. Easy install. Made a few adjustments due to it size was a little larger. Old one was a GE made by Rheem. Hope this outlast the old one.

Got a good deal for a quality product. Works well and is a big improvement over the old one left in my 'new' home.

I bought this water heater to replace 23 year old unit (40 Gallon). Glad I step up to 50 Gallon. Never run out of hot water no matter what we run dish washer or laundry washer.

Needed to replace and with the old unit was 19 years old we decided a new one was the answer.

bought this a few weeks ago when my 11-year old water heater was going bad. got the 'short' version as it fit in the small space much better with direct vent to roof instead of elbow vent. very cool Wi-Fi feature to control it! easy install with a friend, highly recommended.

The longer the warranty, the better (even at a higher price). Only problem is the black plastic cover for the powered damper . . . one of the screw holes was missing what ever you put inside to have the screw attach to. Also, I would recommend putting one or two attachment screws to the front of the cover screwed into the tank as the cover seems to bow up leaving a gap at the front (even with the gasket). Assume the flue stack pushes down on the rear of the cover. Also, the Econet web application (for PC) has very poor documentation, both paper and online (no Help). I have two water heaters (with two WiFi units) and could not get these setup on the same Econet location as the 2nd just replaced the 1st when I did the "ADD EQUIPMENT" for the 2nd after setting up the 1st. Will have to now call SUPPORT as to what to do.

It's awesome not worrying about running out of hot water - I love that it is clean, quiet and efficient!
