This is my third ring floodlight camera. They work well and can be set to alert you via mobile phone with functional settings. One improvement that could be made is the range of the wifi is limited, this is a critical part of the equation so they need to do better with that, especially with the price of the camera being expensive.

Mounting the camera on my hardi siding was no problem. The swivel bracket makes adjustments for the notifications easier than only adjusting within the app. Camera is clear and bright when the motion turns on the lights. No complaints with the camera.

Marketed as Plug in-It's not!
This is marketed as a plug in system. Which one might think is wireless. It's not, you have to run all these wires from the cam inside to an outlet to make it functional. Keep looking .....there are better and easier systems out there for the same money.

Hi DYIQueen. Finding the right home security devices can be tricky, so I'd be happy to try and help. The Spotlight Cam Wired has a cable that plugs into a standard power outlet for continuous power. If you're looking for a wireless camera, the Spotlight Cam Battery may be a better fit as it is powered off a rechargeable battery rather than a power cable. the camera works but light is pointless. it turns on and off all day. I can't seem to minimize the sensitivity low enough. it's crap for a motion flood light. camera good.

Hi Neighbor. A great way to manage you lights is by adjusting your Light Settings. This Help Center article here has information on Light Settings: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004192966-Controlling-the-Lights-and-Light-Settings-on-Your-Spotlight-Cam-Wired. Make sure you don't have any other devices linked to your Spotlight Cam, which can also cause light activation.     Out of the box, it connected to my wi-fi/internet, downloaded...
    Out of the box, it connected to my wi-fi/internet, downloaded a firmware update but stubbornly did not activate "Live View" -- the feature that would actually let me see through the camera. I also noticed that the unit's casing got VERY warm, almost too hot to touch. After spending 3-4 hours trying to figure it out, I finally called Ring Support and after about 10 minutes waiting was connected to a tech support person. She ran remote diagnostics and told me the device (ie, the entire spotlight/cam unit) was at fault. I had the option of bringing it back to Home Depot or have Ring ship me a new unit (and send me a shipping tag to return the faulty unit). I decided to have Ring ship it. I'm waiting for the replacement unit to arrive. One note about Ring's support call center: it sounded as if my rep was surrounded by other reps, all talking, loudly, on their own calls. It was often very difficult to hear her; sometimes, other reps' voices were so clear, I could hear the advice they were giving other customers.
