Thank you for your feedback! Please keep in mind that Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch Ultra Cover Primer is designed for use on bare or painted wood, metal, plaster, masonry or unglazed ceramic surfaces. Since this product is a primer, it does need an opaque topcoat for full coverage and durability.

Each quart of Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch Ultra Cover Primer has a recommended coverage of 120 square feet. Please keep in mind that if applying over a porous surface, such as bare wood, a second coat may be needed. Since this product is a primer, it does need to be topcoated with an opaque topcoat for full coverage and durability.

It's excellent. The best thing is that when you paint your hands or to clean rolls and brushes, you can do it simply with soap and water. In quick dry addition.

Began my project by priming with this product. Seemed ok. Tried to finish with Rustoleum paint. It would not stick to the primed surface!!!! Beaded up like water on glass. Strangest thing I have ever seen with paint. Cannot say whether the primer, the paint or both were bad. I suspect it may have been the paint. I had to finish the project with another brand's products. I would not risk using either one though.

Hmm not sure what went wrong or if this was the wrong primer. One coat over a pre-sanded wood chair left me with a cracked finish. It cracked all over! I'm not sure I can paint the thing at this point..

Uh-oh, something is amiss here. When applying Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch Ultra Cover Primer Paint, make sure to avoid excessive brushing as this will reduce film thickness and protection and will cause the paint to crack as it dries. Use light even strokes to ensure smooth and uniform flow. We also recommend avoiding painting in direct sunlight or on hot surfaces because this will affect the performance and dry times of the product. Rustoleum

Built a bookshelf in the basement out of pine 1x8's. Think basic shelves. Nothing too fancy. Had a can of Rust-oleum Ultra Cover paint (Espresso color) that I used to pain the support poles, so I figured I'd use up the rest of the can. The support poles were primered when we bought the house. Took one coat and then a touch-up coat to finish up the support poles. Figured I would stick with Rust-oleum, since I liked the paint. I primed up my shelves (and the previously painted wall where the bookshelf is mounted with this product......wasn't real impressed with it's "fill" factor, but don't really care, since it is a cheap, pine bookshelf. I am now on my THIRD coat of paint trying to get even coverage over this primer, and it will require a 4th coat to get it to look good. At this point, I am just slapping paint on it, and hoping it won't run too much. Now, I'm not a professional painter, but I have painted bare wood before WITHOUT using any primer whatsoever, and THAT usually takes 3 coats. So, really, what was the point in using this product at ALL? Can't recommend it, and I won't ever use it again. Get Kilz or something else. This stuff is junk.

That is not what we like to hear. It is important when applying Rust-Oleum Painters Touch Ultra cover Primer to avoid excessive brushing as this will reduce film thickness and protection. Use light even strokes to ensure smooth and uniform flow. Primer needs a full 24 hours before applying a topcoat to the surface. Rustoleum
      Worked fine as a primer
Seems to be a fine primer, I'm no expert. Use multiple coats, sand lightly in between to get the smoothest possible finish.
