2 cans clogged
Coverage on this paint is nonexistent even the slightest trace of dark anything underneath it in my case, light gray shows through. After about a minute, it clogged up the can was shaken vigorously beforehand. I turned it upside down to try and clear the clog I put the nozzle in mineral spirits. Nothing I returned the can got another same thing happened, this is just poor quality control

    Disappointed pumpkin
Really like the color, however after only using it for about 3min into the job nozzle stopped up. I have had the same problem with their "hammered" paints also. Is their quality going down? I notice that their prices have gone up. I have used Rustoleum on so many projects over the years even on my farm equipment. This time was only for a small hay roll making look like a pumpkin for the grankids. Won't they be disappointed! Full can cleaned the nozzle, shaking constantly, nothing worked. Wasted $

      Color is off
Using this for a big project for my daughter. Wood was prepped and used white primer. The color on the lid was exactly what we wanted, the color of the paint was not close. It was tinted red-orange. I shook the can 3-5 minutes before using and continued to shake during use (I’m not new to spray paint). I was hoping it would dry more pink, it did not. Going to sand this mess off and shop for a replacement paint.

Oh no, not something we like to hear. After proper shaking to ensure the pigment is well mixed inside the can, which you certainly did, the color typically matches the cap perfectly. Please give us a call at 800-481-4785, so we can hear more about your application and try to make things right.

        Looks orange Not pink!!
We used this on metal over a white primer and it looks orange. Very disappointed. I even double checked the paint because I could not believe the can said pink!

Something is amiss here, Jen! Our Rust-Oleum Specialty Fluorescent Spray Paints should match the color of the protective cap precisely. We need a bit more information from the can to get to the bottom of this. Please give us a call at 800-481-4785, we want to try to make things right! - Rust-Oleum Product Support 2 Rustoleum

Great for routed trail signs on treated boards, then covered with a spray lacquer. Really pops in the woods

slow is the key as many mentioned.
I use rustoleum a lot and paint slow to fo ast later. Also, this flourescent green at 70 deg min and 50 percent relative humidity (one hour after plastic primer) looks really good and even an amateur like me could carryout.

            Color is definitely off-kilter
I've used these neon spray paints for projects over the years and always liked them for when I want vibrant stand-out color. But something has happened to their pigmentation and I have pictures to illustrate - the folks on here who say it's more orange than pink are correct. I had an old can of this product from maybe 15 years ago, which was like 1/3 full and I tried to use it on a new project. The pressure quickly ran out and I thought, no biggie, it's old and it's only a few dollars, I'll get a new one. But the color is VERY different now, a weird orange-pink combo. It does not match the cap at all. You can see the old can on the left and new can on the right, both are called bright neon pink, both same manufacturer. But then see the other picture - the thing I'm painting is in the upper right and the cardboard I was using for a backing previously has the remnants of the old can's color...now THAT was pink. New one, not so much. You may well be OK with this, but don't think you're actually getting pink. It's disturbing to me because I had a color scheme planned assuming pink as the base color and now I'm not sure what I'm going to do. So - be aware of this odd mismatch. I feel bad because I've been using these for years and the coverage and quality have always been good. But this color is just way off.

Something is amiss here, Keith. Keep in mind that our Rust-Oleum Specialty Fluorescent Spray Paint contains a lot of pigment. It is important to shake the can for at least one minute once the mixing ball begins to rattle, and shake often during the application process. This will ensure that the pigment remains evenly incorporated in the can.

Oh no, that is not what we like to hear David! ! Rust-Oleum Specialty Fluorescent Spray Paint contains a lot of pigment, for that reason is it important to shake the can vigorously once the mixing ball begins to rattle. During the painting process is it just as important to shake vigorously to ensure the pigment remains blended in the can, this ensures proper color and finish.

                Goes on watery and uneven
As other reviewers pointed out, this is a terrible spray paint. I used it on black metal frame, and the watery paint was barely visible (haven't had this issue with other brands). Primed the frame with Montana Gold brand spray paint (a great product), which made the rustoleum adhere and color pop much better, but the watery effect is still visible. I need to depress the nozzle for much longer than usual to get enough paint out and it's uneven and ugly. I haven't used other brands' neon paints so I don't know if the problem is something unique to this color family, or if Rustoleum needs to adjust their formula. The color comes out looking a little coral, but it does dry hot pink. Looks more on the coral side (still looks pretty) if you really lay the paint on, which you unfortunately have to do. Not worth the trip back to home depot during a pandemic, so I'm gonna make do.

Color is exactly as is shown, I tried using other brands where the color is not anything like they show. I've used this paint before to make a address sign, which was exposed to the desert's extreme weather & color remained vibrant for years. The only downfall was the cans clogging, I took a pin to unclog it a few times, then it worked good.

I am a long range target shooter and use the RustOleum Fluorescent Orange paint on my 4"; 6" and 8" steel targets. It holds up really well to weather conditions over several months and is able to be seen clearly at several hundred yards. Since I live in the mountains in fairly wooded areas, I also use this to paint my street number on the base of the driveway which provide air marshals a clearly visible designation/location in the event of a forest fire, the air tankers know exactly where my house is by the 3 foot numbers on the driveway in Fluorescent Orange!

Happy to help! It sounds like the nozzle was clogged. Inside each can of Rust-Oleum Specialty Fluorescent Spray Paint is a dip tube that pulls the paint from the bottom of the can to the tip. If the pigment in the paint is too big or if there's not enough pressure behind it, it can get stuck in the tube or tip and the paint won't spray. Try turning the can upside down and spraying for a few seconds. If the clog is in the tip, soaking it in mineral spirits should clear it out.

                    Not good paint
I bought this paint for a project on a beach cruiser to restore, 1) After shaking the can vigorously, Making sure it as well stirred up, The paint would come out in spurts, leaving large clumps of paint, 2) The color does not come out fluorescent as described, That's not as big an issue as the spray pattern, Does not deliver Fine mist spray,, Making the paint job look horrible, Fortunately, this was only for a beach cruiser, As it was a project bike, But I would never recommend this paint!

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience, Mike. Certainly, it is important to thoroughly shake the can prior to use, and occasionally during use as well. The can should be shaken for no less than one minute after the mixing ball in the can begins to rattle. Shaking often during application also ensures there is not settled pigment in the can.
You also want to make sure the finger that presses down on the nozzle stays clean and free of any paint. It is important to have your index finger centered on the nozzle itself. If your finger is too forward, it can cause some blocking of the spray mist as it comes out of the can, which can cause sputtering or larger drops to be sprayed on the surface.
For the best coverage and appearance with Rust-Oleum Specialty Fluorescent Spray Paint, we do recommend applying over a white base coat or surface.
