we chose this to restore so old patio furniture. it looks brand new and has held up well to the weather. we didn't spray any other coating on top.

Used on a wrought iron porch railing that was in really bad shape. Came out really good considering what I was working with. Make sure you do proper prep work, and keep some thinner handy for clean up. Very strong odor. As with any paint like this use it in a well ventilated area. I let it dry overnight and now it's unexpectedly raining this afternoon. So far it's holding up great. Time will tell, but it seems really durable. I've been painting for almost 30 years and this is definitely one of the best I've used on this type of application. It does get a little sticky , and need stirred often , but this is expected. My only warning is about the color. Even with proper mixing this paint dries to more of a metallic silver/dark grey than a deep black. Overall a great paint.

Product is great, and gives desired appearance. Love the look! CAUTION: Odor is strong. Work outside or in very well ventilated area.

Very tough product! Works even better when used with an enamel hardener. (Not sold at HD) With the additive it dries to the touch in under 2 hours, but you have to mix hardener with paint in a separate container and a little at a time and work fast. You get about a 1 hour working time window. Turns sticky very quickly. Don't mix in the can unless you plan on throwing out what you don't use.

Rust-Oleum Hammered Black brush on paint. I used this to paint a wrought iron window box. Really like the end look. Paint is thick but it still needed two coats. Must have turpentine to clean up. I would recommend this paint.

This is really good paint and the fact that you don’t have to use a primer as a plus. I wish it came in a gallon or 5 gallon because I had to buy 10 cans.

Have been using for 10 years now this year I had tops of railing sanded down in bare metal, next year I will have to rest of the railing sanded down. Rust-oleum proved great again.

Rust-Oleum products are proven strong and durable - and the hammered variety, in my opinion, are the toughest. I paint my master cylinders using it, as it withstands brake fluid spills. Great stuff!

Label says drying time 24 hours-however it was still tacky. Magically at 30 hours it hardened perfectly. Very strong fumes when applying (I used a 4-inch roller on a metal table). Trail tip: allow to dry and ventilate in an unused bathroom or laundry room with door closed and fan on.

I’ve used the spray paint version before & really liked it so I decided to buy the spreadable paint for a larger project. It cover great and has a beautiful shine but the odor is almost unbearable. The space was well ventilated and windows were left open but the odor lingered into the next day even after dry. I will not be using indoors again until I can leave all windows open for 24 hours.

Excellent for painting my outside railing. Going to try it on my outdoor furniture ?

the paint make the outside lights look brand new I will use that paint on other out door items that need a touch up.
