I had a Sharkbite Washing Machine box installed as part of a basement remodel 2 years ago. This is a rental and the tenants just moved out. While cleaning I found the drywall behind the washer full of mold. Tore it out to find the washer box had been leaking - for how long I do not know but significant rot and mold.

I bought this last night to install right away. I knew the quality was not the best when I examined it in the store but after I installed it I was discouraged. The valves seem lie they are of good quality but the box and mounting brackets are terrible. The box is extremely floppy if you are mounting in between studs at 16" on center. I added framing to box it and secure it better and I also notched the framing where the straps crew on so the dry wall wouldn't bulge out. It's satisfactory but very poor quality.

Shark bite products I find are always simple to Install and are trouble free.

I have to install 8 of these in my house. The low rating is for the knock out for the drain. Overall they are good boxes and now have 3 of them put in their place. Some of them will not require drains which is a plus as I am using them for water access for mop sink, automatic dog water, Ice machine, coffee machine and dishwasher hook ups along with jet tub and 2 laundry hook ups. It would be nice if the boxes had better mounting brackets if not double the amount. Even something that could align them flush with studs. Other than that I am so far happy with them.

No issues at all. Had seen other reviews complaining of leakage from preassembled parts, but not for me. Box is also plenty sturdy if surrounded by real wall finish to help keep in place as intended.

Perfect after 2nd go around.

The box shows three configurations, and upon opening, the drain was not centered and both outlets were to the right. The directions show "punch outs" which cannot be punched out - I used a drill. The primary issue was removing each outlet. A lock washer secures the outlet to the base, but cannot be removed. The only way to move the outlet is to completely disassemble the unit and re assemble in the punch out. This is ridiculously complicated, and I cannot believe shark bite designed such an inferior product. I returned my unit - complete with broken punch outs.

I really like this fixture. The lever style valves tend to leak, so these ball valves are a great improvement. This makes for a nice clean installation.

Installed this in less tan two hours. I had copper pipes and the install was a breeze...just snapped on. Two things to note: 1. Rearranging the box for center drain was a little difficult as I actually had to score the plastic. Needs to be better perforated. 2. The instruction in the box were not very good for changing the plumbing arrangements or the actual install..online info is better and reference you tube videos I would recommend shark bites but they need to provide better install instructions

Waste of time! I've installed non-sharkbite outlet boxes before and they were simple, easy and good instructions. The so-called adjustable mounting brackets are very difficult to adjust. The knock-out procedure is vague..

Bought product today, wanted to set up with drain in center, my instructions did not explain how to do this. However, I used a screwdriver as recommended to knockout the knockouts and the end result was damaging one of the valves where the piping goes in. Now I have a $40.00 piece of junk and still no water to the house, due to in my opinion, poor instructions and knockouts not being weak enough to knockout.I do like Sharkbite products and I hope they either replace or refund this product or they will loose a customer.
