These are not for homeowners use. You need a hydraulic press to install. Also not recommended for trusses.

The MP36 can be installed by placing a wood block over the plate and hammering the plate to the wood members you are mending. As you stated they are not designed for truss applications as a truss plate does require a truss press for installation. Plumber did a number on our non-load bearing wall. These are super easy to use. Just hammer it in to add some strength back to damaged/butchered boards

Used these on my home gym floor cause they were all slidy. Put these mother truckers down between the mats, pounded them down with a rubber mallet, and now the mats no slidy anymore. They've changed my life, in an awesome way. My kids like me more, and my wife finds me way more attractive, because now i'm a fixer man. Probably gonna take my lawnmower engine apart now too. Life is so good now, and all because of these mending plates

These need some sort of press to work properly. You cannot install them with a hammer and a block of wood. Should not be sold to the average homeowner. Get the ones that require screws to fasten the plate.
