This is a review of Viagrow Stop-Alg 1000 ml Aquarium and Pond Algae Control. I got this product to help control algae in my outdoor Koi pond. It's a dilution mixture of 10 ml to 400 liters of pond water or 3/4 oz. per 105.67 gallons - treat the water weekly. The chemicals are Methylene Blue and Malachite Green. I've been using it for a few weeks and it appears to be working in clearing the algae. The bottle is a very large 1000 ML (33.8 oz.) so it will last for quite some time.

Our pond looked like swamp water until we added the Viagrow Stop-Alg. As per the instructions we diluted the product with some of the pond water in a bucket and spread it over the surface of the pond. It left blue colored streaks where we had dispersed it which quickly disappeared as the product mixed with the water. In a couple of days the water cleared. The fish and turtles seemed quite content with the result as were we. There is an indication on the bottle that this product is for fresh water only. This is a 1000 ml bottle the instructions of which indicate 10 ml of product/400 ml of pond water.

Recently started a small goldfish "tank" in a Japanese style porcelain container made particularly for this feng shui purpose. I decided to use the Stop-Alg right from the get go, and it's keeping the water beautifully clear. Of course I have aeration & a small filter, but this arrangement is outside, by my front door and does receive lots of sun, so algae was a concern. The fish are suffering no ill effects that I can see. I did have to look hard for a reference to safety for other animals and birds that might want a sip of this water and did find it in the small print on the side (which should be a bit larger and easier to find.) Generally, a very good product.

I actually wouldn't know if this product works because the company sent me the wrong item without me realizing it. I gave it to my handy man, asked him to follow the directions and put in my pond so he did. A few weeks later, I wanted to know why there was still algae and asked to see the bottle to make sure he added the correct amount. To my surprise, I realized they sent me Viagrow chlorine remover. Well, I guess that answered my question on why it didn't remove the algae. Well, I certainly don't need chlorine remover when I am using a well and rain water to change or replenish evaporated water.

I recently received the Viagrow Stop Algae Aquarium and Pond Algae Control product to try on my outdoor pond. With warmer weather approaching, algae is definitely a problem. Before using this product, our pond had developed an algae bloom which was starting to take over. It was clouding our pond, robbing it of much needed oxygen for our fish and also frequently clogging our pond filter. I poured two capfuls of this product into our pond, and within a matter of a couple of days the water returned to being noticeably clearer. It did not harm plant life or our fish and I do not have to clean the pump filter nearly as much after treating the pond. The product works as advertised. For maintenance purposes, I am now placing one cap full of the stop algae product in my pond once a week, and have had no further issues with algae. In summary, I clean my filter much less frequently, my pond is basically clear and it doesn’t seem to affect our fish. I would recommend giving this product a try if you are experiencing algae issues in your pond or aquarium.

The name Viagrow is what convinced me to try it. So far everyone of their products I've used has been a winner. Mine is a heavily contaminated patio pond combination of two joined whiskey barrel halves, pump circulated with one cascading into the other. After numerous algae blooms last year the water color was dark green. Surprisingly, our gold fish survived so I wanted to treat the condition as conservatively as possible. I tried numerous filtered tap water flushes but that didn't work. With the summer like weather we've had this winter it was getting worse so I started adding the STOP-ALG and the water appears to be clearing up. And the fish are still alive! If it eventually takes the whole bottle to do it I'll still see it as a win win situation.

I used this product in my tropical fish tank and it worked wonderfully for keeping the algae growth down. More importantly, it did not harm or kill any of my fish, which is always a concern when adding chemicals to your tank. This bottle is quite large for a tank though, and will last for a long time as only a small amount is required per treatment.

Ordered the algae control for our fountain in the front yard. This product worked miracles. In less than a few hours our fountain went from a dingy green to clear sparkling water. It took the green right out and has been clear ever since or approximately two weeks. It works better than the outdoor bleach I have been using to clear the water up and get rid of the algae that is primarily cause by are tree.

My patio fountain stands in full sunlight and is prone to algae build up from late spring to late fall. I have had to drain and scrub at least 3 time in the summer, not my favorite chore. Stop-Alg keeps the water clear and the filter flowing. I use rubber gloves when adding it to the fountain, so as not to stain my hand. I was looking on the package to see if it was animal friendly because the animals and birds come to drink out of the fountain and I don't want any harm to come to them. It was hidden in the verbage on the side of the bottle. Wish it was more outstanding.

Product works great for my large outdoor garden pond. I recently had to empty and clean out my large garden pond that was covered in algae. After cleaning I filled the pond with fresh water and before using the algae control I used this company's chlorine remover as directed. I then reintroduced all of my koi, minnows, and other goldfish to the pond and they suffered no ill effects. I have been adding the algae control as directed and have not had any algae growth. The pond water is very clear and the fish and water plants are thriving. Highly recommend this product.

I used this in a pond that feeds a waterfall water feature in my back yard. It seems to keep the algae under control but you need to beware that this stuff stains quite easily. While taking the seal off of the bottle I had a couple of drips that got on my deck and my hands. It took a couple of days to wash/wear it off of my hands and a week later the stain on the deck has not faded. Just be careful when working with it.
