This is a very efficient carpenter pencil. The lead is replaceable and is replaced FASTER than taking the time out to sharpen the lead. The carpenter pencil is ALWAYS the same length. I was disappointed that I had to order this pencil and refills ON-LINE because it was not carried at my local HOME DEPOT locations.

This is a fantastic pencil. Never have to sharpen it and it stays sharp a very long time. I will never go back to the old wooden pencils.

It’s a good product and it’s made well. Each of the tip cartridges is also reversible so you get a total of 48 tips. I’m not sure that I’m quite sold on the tip shape for all applications, so I still keep a standard carpenters pencil on me, but it is still a good product, and I would recommend it.

This is one of the best marking utensils to ever come along. No need to carry a sharpener that don't always give a fine line mark. Just slip out and pass through a new lead. I also ordered red refills to use on my upcoming aluminum projects as well.

I bought my first Swanson pencils at Lowes. I went back to by the refills for them, only to find they don't carry them anymore. The associate told me he loved them and didn't know why they no longer carried them. I bought them there because the store was really close to me. For the heck of it I checked HD and found they were avaiable on line at there site, The price was so good that I bought two more pencils and two packs of 25 each of the refills. I love having to just push the old one in the back and a new one pops out the front and your set to go. I have found that there is a lot more to HD than just what is in the store. I have bought a lot of items and saved hundreds of dollars looking on there internet site. I bought AC units, washer and dryer, just to mention a few. The service is great and free pickup at the store.
