Wish we had our money back as this trap is very difficult. We have tried & tried to get it set without any luck so it is setting in our garage doing nothing. Was a waste of our money.

Did the job. Easy setup. I use a stick to set the safety. Easier for me

This is my second Tomcat mole trap. After several years my first trap is still catching moles...around 60 so far. I needed another to stop a sudden invasion and already caught two. Most effective trap I have used.

The mole set off this trap twice without getting caught, no he won't go anywhere near it.

The trigger did not latch when I tried to set it onto the active tunnel. I have to set it prior to pushing it onto the tunnel. The trap was triggered one time but did not capture any mole. I was disappointed with this product.

I have had this over several mole runs and has actually been closed twice since I have had it but no mole. Apparentlly it is not strong enough to catch the mole when it is triggered.

The trap was easy to set and allowed me to reuse again.

Difficult to set in the ground, and the soil here is sandy and fairly soft. I could catch them with a shovel in the time it takes to set this trap. Returning to the store. Buying the steel trap with spikes instead.

It worked as advertised and has continued to work however I consistently ended up with new tunnels throughout my garden. It’s been well over a month. I’m sure it works for some, not for me.

Caught 23 moles over the last two years with this trap once I learned how to use it. If ground is hard and dry, throw a bucket of water where you want to place it or it can't be set. Be sure to follow directions.and you will get the hang of it quickly. Once you can push the pedal down, I let it come up and push it down about 10 times before setting so it can move easily.

Caught a mole within 15 minutes. Easy clean up.

Follow the instructions, find an active run, and your mole problems are done.

All plastic junk. Got one mole and went to reset in another location and the trip lever broke. Don't waste your money on this plastic piece of junk.

Our whole neighborhood has a mole problem. My mole ended up dead of natural causes, and we found it by our sidewalk. One neighbor LOVES this trap and used it and killed several moles, so he would give it an Excellent rating, I am sure. The third neighbor borrowed my trap and after two days with no catch and his yard getting worse, he got up one morning early and killed it on his own with the ole' shovel method. Seems simple enough, but the trap is VERY hard to set. The directions make it seem easy, but it takes A TON of force to step on the yellow pedal to set the trap. You may have to pour water over the area to moisten the dirt to make it easier to move the "legs" of the trap to set it. Do I recommend this trap? No. But my one neighbor would big time.

Purchased this a week ago and it was a waste of money. The plastic blades are too wide to cut through most soils if you install the trap as shown on the packaging. Difficult to target trigger over the depression made with your heel as shown so the trap won't stay open. Trap was triggered once but the grass roots bound the blades so they only closed a little bit. My lawn is still covered with growing trails. I'm going to try digging out an active tunnel and installing the trap as a last ditch effort before throwing it away.

I think this trap is well designed and constructed. So why the poor review? This product cannot work in the heavy clay soil in this area, The company’s FAQ says to use a shovel to make a clean insert for the trap’s feet, which are supposed to pierce the ground on their own. But even then there is too much compression from the clay soil surrounding the trap for the trap to be locked, and then spring when triggered by a mole.

Have used these twice and the teeth keep breaking off. Refund process is a pain, you actually have to mail off the upc

Took me a few days but it worked, I got the mole

I did exactly what they said to do and nothing, waisted time and money.

Impossible to set.

Ground is really too hard in our area. Took a while to realize that we had to loosen the soil before using. Once the soil was loosened, worked well.

After struggling with other suggestions for how to get rid of yard moles, I bought the Tomcat Mole Trap in early summer 2019. I set the trap in what I thought was an active tunnel, but apparently not; then one day after mowing, I just put the trap into another tunnel and I caught the mole; it had made tunnels all over my front yard. I was so excited with the success. On May 10th, I bought another of the traps for my son who had tunnels all over his front year; he caught one within 24 hours of setting, so he bought a 2nd trap. Since May 10th, he has caught 4 moles with his 2 traps. Your product works! You must watch the YouTube video for help with proper setting. I think your trap is great.

The trap works, but doesn't last very long. It caught nearly a dozen in a couple of weeks last fall, then I put it away for the winter. It caught another and 6 in the last two weeks, but now I have to retire it. We have hard clay here in the midwest and after use the jaws tend to spread out. It still works, but the last two moles I have caught were not killed instantly. The first one made it almost all the way through the first set of jaws before being caught. I figured maybe it was just really fast. The same thing happened to the next one. The trap is supposed to kill moles quickly, not catch them, hurt them, and hold them until I notice one is caught, forcing me to dispatch it to end the suffering. Not cool.

Bad design. If your moles are active in wide open spaces this might work. Most of my active tunnels are along the house or shed. Also, you're going to crush the tunnel when you set the trap.

This is my second year using the same 2 traps and I would replace them in a heartbeat if I lost them. IF you follow the instructions, use a flat spade to assist in making the 2 jaw cuts and BE SURE TO USE YOUR HEEL TO DEPRESS THE SOIL BETWEEN THE CUTS, you will NOT have any difficulty setting the trap. My region is hard clay soil and I still easily set my traps ! Pick an active run and keep putting the trap back after you catch one. I took 3 from the site today.
