As 'cook' microwave ovens were in my life before they were available to the general public. The fact that the model we purchased was designed/built with 'Inverter Technology' - as all microwaves should 'possess - we were able to continue our life with a 'Smart' microwave, not a 'Dumbed Down' model. Please ... please! - train your staff to know what 'Inverter Technology' is and why it is the 'Smart' way to go.

I'm not sure what the longevity of microwaves is these days but 2 years seems ridiculously low. According to the reviews here (and Google) Toshiba microwaves are prone to the E5 error (although it's unclear what it is as it's not listed in the manual or website) so I don't know if it's worth the expense and hassle of trying to find a repair shop. What I do know is I'll be looking at other brands for a replacement!

11 months after owning... I too have the E5 error code. Not happy. I suppose that is why its no longer available from Home Depot. I feel ripped off.

Did not even last a year and with minimal usage.

We loved this microwave but after only 6 months, it has stopped working and is showing an E-5 code. In looking at recent reviews, this is not an isolated incident. We bought Toshiba because of good experience in the past. Sadly, this time, we lost out. I would definitely not recommend this product!

This microwave worked well when I first received it. It is powerful and cooks things evenly. A couple days ago it started making a noise when cooking that I hadn't heard before. I bought it in Dec 2019. I no longer have the box. I hope this will not prevent me from using the warranty if needed. Other than that noise the microwave does what I expected and looks nice.

Microwave worked great for 8 months, then stopped working with the E-5 code. The last microwave I have lasted about 8 years, so in comparison not a great value. It is still under the warranty and I will try an service this microwave under the warranty. I will update my review when that process is complete.

This microwave is easy to operate and works well.

It is the right size for the space, which was important. The interior size is good, though we haven't had to utilize it yet. The oven itself is very quiet. The loudest noise is the fan, not the microwave itself. It does take some getting used to, because the fan continues to run after cooking. If we miss the beeps, we still think it's cooking. The inverter feature was what led me to this unit. It does seem to produce more even heating and the food stays hotter, longer than our old microwave. So far, nothing has burned, unlike the old unit. The only problem thus far: I wish manufacturers would use flat plugs instead of the common straight plugs like the one on this Toshiba.

Purchased as a gift, receiver was very satisfied with it.

So far very happy w/ this purchase. Only used it for 1 wk, but it's much quieter than prev 20 yr old microwave. Quieter while cooking & the door handle makes a big difference when opening & closing compared to push-pad style. Has 'silent mode' but haven't needed yet. Arrived faster than expected.

It fit perfectly in built in cabinet!

Very nice. Smart design and controls. No button to open the door which is what I wanted. The only thing I don't like is the fan stays on for a short while after cooking. However knowing Toshiba there is probably a good reason (heat buildup) for this. I highly recommend the product.

Picked up the unit at my local Home Depot. No sense tempting thieves. New technology in microwaves makes this one far superior to my old one ( approx 15 years old). It's rated 1250 watts which is higher than most and it's noticeable when cooking. Reading the instructions is a must as the unit runs a cool down cycle after cooking. I suspect this is a result of a lessor heat sink as the unit is much lighter than my previous microwave. It has good features including a simple door handle which I prefer. Good design, good features and good delivery option.

I was very disappointed, because my unit was defective. It took customer service 15 minutes to verify who I was only to tell me yes it is indeed defective.

THE OVEN LASTED THREE WEEKS ERROR CODE E-5 KEPT COMING UP IT WILL NOT HEAT

Microwave turntable stopped working. The microwave continued to run when the door was open.

After doing exhaustive research on mid size countertop microwaves for months I arrived at this model as the best one that suits my needs. The features I like are a door handle, interior light, good power, the standard quick set buttons. It's 1.6 CF of space is perfect for our family.

Have no complaints on reheating, defrosting, cooking frozen dinners, and a few cook-from-raw things like cooking a potato. But don't like that the fan continues to run after cooking - noisy nuisance noise. Especially don't like the small print that is above the numbers. My old micro had a lit select panel - this one doesn't. But does have an inside light. Prefer my old micro that had 6 quick select cook times - this one has only 3. Don't like the tin-ny sound it makes when closing the door - sounds like a tin can. Don't like all the shiny stainless, prefer black stainless. But, got this one because I needed a 14" plate - not many microwave choices to pick from that have a 14" plate. And like so many products, it's super thin and light so need to put some skid proof pads on bottom. So --- most of my 'don't likes' are cosmetic. Seems to do the cook job A-OK for a microwave.

It's so much faster than my last microwave. I like the cool down fan after it turns off. It's the quietest one I've ever had. It's attractive and compact.

This is probably the best microwave I have ever used. I was going to buy just a cheap anything microwave but glad I spent a little more for this. It really does heat evenly.

It seems to take longer to heat thany previous microwave. It is easy to use and fots a casserole dish in it nicely. It works fine.

We exchanged another brand and chose the Toshiba 1.6 cu. ft. The buttons are large and easy to read. The handle is sturdy and I much prefer it to the push button open. The white interior is easy to clean. Totally satisfied.

Excellent Product

This microwave had the three features we were looking for. A handle to open with instead of a push button.The beeper can be silenced.It is very quiet when running. We are happy with it.

This is the first microwave I have seen with a mute capacity, much appreciated in a household with people on different schedules and not wanting to awaken others.

This a great countertop microwave oven. Best I've seen in a couple years. The handle makes a lot of difference between this oven and the ones generally available in stores. The handle makes it easier to open and close. Ovens without a handle require you to slam the oven door closed. You should make this oven available in stores rather than needing to purchase online and wait for it to arrive.

Perfect size for area we want to put it. Love the new inverter technology, worked great the other day when cooking a frozen croissant breakfast sandwich, meat wasn’t still cold in center. Super easy to use. Great price too
