Using Corsica Vinyl tile flooring in our small bathroom.
I really love the look of this tile now that I have installed it. If I had to do it all over again, I would have put down some kind of underlayment since I installed it over 1 x 1 inch tiles and cushioning between them and the tile would have been better. Don't be fooled by those that have posted how-to videos on YouTube for installation of these tiles. True enough, it's a breeze to install, but not a breeze to line each of them perfectly. If you don't butt them up enough to your liking, you can surely separate them, but it seems like they have their own memory, and wind up with the original little gap. So that it wouldn't drive me insane looking at those miniscule black lines, I did wind up buying some paintable caulk, to which I added some colored acrylic paint to and painstakingly filled the gaps, it actually turned out pretty good. Overall, it's a very beautiful floor, but if you want a floor with no seems at all, then I suggest that you buy a piece of vinyl and install that. I might add that it is very easy to clean and keep looking nice.

Looks nice, easy to install but expensive
We purchased this floor to install in our kitchen which is a high traffic area. We carefully read the manufacturers instructions and laid the flooring over a clean surface. Pros: The installation was fairly easy but you do need to warm the tile in order to cut them easily, we found that a paint gun worked the best but a blow dryer is sufficient. Cons: We had trouble getting some of the seams to align due to variances in the tiles themselves. After 48 hours we have one corner which keeps popping up. We are going to try to heat it and put a weight on it. If that does not work we will try to glue it down. We had a large number of broken tiles. At least two full boxes out of the 7 we ordered. Luckily they were broken in a way that we were still able to use some of them and complete our project on time. If you are a perfectionist this may not be the system for you as it will drive you crazy seeing the grey adhesive strips where the seams don't align perfectly. It would be nice if the manufacturer offered a colored fill or paint to hide where the seams do not align. I would consider buying this product again for a small space such as an entryway or mudroom.

A Happy Upgrade
Overall we are pleased with this floor. However, the installation was not the easiest thing we've ever done... the pieces are difficult to cut into small places or around awkward angles. But it matched what we had really well and certainly looks better than what was there! I recommend ordering more than what you think you'll need. But for the price, it is a great alternative to real tile and receives lots of compliments.

Worked for me!
It was easy for a beginner like me to install, it looks really nice and professional. Keep in mind it's thick and sturdy, so really tough to cut. I was a little thrown off that there is no adhesive to attach to the ground. It just floats on top of your floor and stays in place with any transition strips or quarter rounds around the edges.

Consider the size of your space
We purchased this vinyl tile flooring for two bathrooms in our home. We installed it ourselves and it looks well, however, it was difficult because (1) the space was small and (2) there were lots of "adjustment cuts" that had to be made, e.g., corners, hole for toilet, and strips that needed to be less that 3 feet. This tile is very hard and cutting it is extremely difficult. The glue they use is excellent in that it is attracted to itself so when two pieces w/glue come in contact withe each other they start the bonding process right away. All that combined to make this extremely tedious and difficult WITH ADJUSTMENTS. If the room is large and your adjustments are few, it would be wonderful. It looks super when you install it, but after the tuff time we had putting it down in tight spaces, we're too tired to consider doing any other floors in this tile. I hope the photo lets you know that it can look very nice once it's down.

Hard to fit around corners. Looks GREAT! We did our kitchen floor about a year ago, and that is why we bought this product for our bathroom.

Simple Solution for small bathroom floor
I hated the small 1x1 tiles in this guest bathroom. An added issue was that the wall tile was a weird brown and dark beige so getting something that would not clash was a challenge. These tiles fit the bill. Installed over the tile, it lies flat and is warmer to the touch. Installation was easy, except for some difficult areas around the base of the toilet. otherwise this is a job that can be done by the homeowner.

    Love this vinyl flooring
This is the second time we purchased this vinyl flooring. We already had it in our entry foyer and I loved how easy it is to maintain so we needed flooring for a bathroom and this floor is just perfect. It is easy to install, looks great and I know how durable it is because the flooring in my foyer has been installed since 2011 and is in perfect condition. I would highly recommend this flooring to anyone.

Economical/Fairly easy install/Looks good for now
So, looks like there are some really good reviews and some not so good on the site. To be honest, Trafficmaster Allure resilient flooring is not a high end product. If you have a "McMansion" and want to be featured in Southern Living magazine, then you shouldn't be looking at this product. This is a relatively economical option for those of us that live payday to payday and need a DIY option, rather than hiring a tile company that would charge thousands for ceramic. If you have the money, hardwood or ceramic tile would look much better and last much longer, and I'd relegate this stuff to a a finished basement, garage or utility room. I, however, in the interest of saving money, installed the Ashlar color/pattern 12"x36" planks in my kitchen that had sheet vinyl as the original install from when the home was built in 2004. I took up the sheet vinyl, patched any holes in the subfloor, and put a primer down. Not required, but leaving the old floor offended my OCD personality. Install of the Allure tiles is relatively easy as compared to a ceramic or hardwood, but a little tricky around the kitchen island, corners, etc. Takes some time to get it right. Used a hand roller on all the joints, and rolled over the entire kitchen once done. All in all, I spent about $450 or so for about 150 sq ft, I think. It does look good, but there were some scuff marks from moving my fridge and stove back into place. The Allure Single Step Cleaner/Polisher (Soft Satin Finish) worked to remove those (despite some negative reviews on Home Depot). I WOULD NOT by this product in a dark wood or some other smooth, even colored pattern. I imagine scuff marks would be horrible on that type of color/pattern. The Ashlar has a mottled stone color and pattern, so somewhat forgiving to scuff marks, stains, etc. Final thoughts: Decent price, fairly easy to install, looks good for now, and hope it stays that way for about a year so I can sell my house:) With this type of product, I'd be surprised if you could get more than 5 years of use out of it in a high traffic/high visibility area. In a garage, utility room or basement, probably last for a lot longer, because you wouldn't be overly concerned about looks.

      Looks great
I've installed the wood plank version of this floor twice before, so I was familiar with how it worked. The difference here is that the floor has a tile pattern, so that has to be taken into consideration when figuring out how much square footage you'll need. I did have a couple of pieces with small corner damage, so I used those for pieces that needed to be cut. There was a slight problem with the glue coming up through the cracks once weight was placed on the floor, which was a problem I hadn't encountered before. It rubbed off with a dry paper towel and a little elbow grease. Once I get the trim and wall paint finalized it will look great. The floor itself looks very high-quality. Its non-slip texture is excellent. So far, I'd recommend it.

Easy installation, great quality, and top notch appearance
My neighbors had installed this product in two rooms of their home and convinced me that DIY installation was easy. Other than some tricky cuts around door jambs, etc., it goes in quickly and looks professional. The overall appearance is wonderful and I am satisfied that it will be durable as the planks are quite sturdy and well made. Overall, I am very pleased with this product and not only would I recommend it without hesitation, but I would definitely use it again myself.

      Not Easy to Install
My son and I put this flooring in our main bathroom. It looks great but it was so difficult to get down. You have to line up the tiles perfectly so there are no gaps. This is difficult because of the sticky adhesive. It's easy to get the pieces stuck together wrong and then not be able to get them apart. My son is a very handy person and we followed the instructions exactly. We put down 1000 sq. feet of laminate flooring in our home and that was MUCH easier than dealing with this stuff. I'm going to get the regular vinyl squares for my bedroom bathroom. This stuff is not worth the hassle.

looks good but seams very noticable
The product has a great appearance.....the 1X3 tiles are not exactly the same size.....this makes the seams very noticeable, since there are no grout lines in the tiles. Once I gave up trying to get the the seams perfect the installation was very easy. It is a must to have the alignment of the tiles very close when first positioning, because they are not real easy to pull apart..... I would recommend a product that has grout lines to help hide the seams.

This product was easy to install and looks great!
This is the second room that we've put the Allure flooring in (first was the laundry room, now the guest bath) and it looks more expensive than what we paid for it. Will use this product for the kitchen too. The product was due to arrive in about two weeks. We had it in about a week.

      Great Product
I read the reviews, did the research, & couldn't be happier with the results. I'm a 64 yr. old female & installed just under 200 sq. feet in our kitchen. It took me 2 days...there were a lot of cuts around a center island/table. The cuts were easy enough using either the tin snips or the scoring method. We enjoy the look & comfort of this flooring. You can't beat a product that looks great, is long lasting, & easy to install over existing flooring. The matching transition reducer worked perfectly.

      Very pleased!
Love these floors! We've had the floors in for about a month now. We have 3 dogs and put this flooring from the back door through the kitchen, and they mask dirt and are very easy to clean! Even when they're dirty from the dogs tracking in dirt from the back yard, you cannot see it! Not to mention they look great and were pretty easy to install! The worst part of install was cutting them to fit around door frames that already had trim up...it can be done, but if we had it to do over, I think we would have taken the door framing off first and put them back on after floor installation. Make sure your baseboards are removed first, or that you have them maybe an eighth of an inch off the base of the floor, so these can slide under it. We have an old house (build in 1940) and there were layers of old flooring in the kitchen, so instead of ripping all that mess up, we sanded down any areas that weren't smooth and laid these down. They're so thick, you can't feel any imperfections that were in the floor before. Overall, best purchase I have made for our home in a while!

      Nice but.........
We love the looks and how it feels. Put the tile down 3 weeks ago on a dry and fairly level basement floor and after a week we noticed popping and separating at the corners and seems. After spending $1000.00 on this I became nauseous. I'm giving it a little more time before we make our decision but doesn't look good so far.

      Very durable and attractive!
This floor was a perfect fit for our remodeled bathroom. It was simple to install and went right over the old floor. Recently the floor became slightly flooded and it cleaned up beautifully with no concerns. It looks great!

Realistic "tile look" from a vinyl product
We installed this vinyl plank flooring over an existing old vinyl sheet flooring in our kitchen. So far we have been very pleased. It looks like tile but is softer underfoot and the color is great in that it doesn't show the dirt in our high traffic areas. The pattern is one of the most realistic we have seen for imitating the look of tile in a very reasonably priced vinyl. The four different strips that came in the numerous boxes we ordered allowed us to create a very natural look without an obvious repeating pattern (a look we preferred) We had very little waste. If you have a square or rectangular floor, the installation should be a breeze as long as you follow the instructions precisely. We had a lot of "bump outs" and fitting into closets, a hall and adjoining powder room, so it was a little more difficult. In some places, because of all the custom fitting we needed to do, we ended up with some small gaps between the tiles. This hasn't interfered with the performance of the floor as of yet and is barely noticeable. Of course, now that we've done it once, we know what we would need to do to prevent gaps if we were to do it again but it's hard to explain in a few words. Simply put, it's best to start in a corner along a straight wall if possible.

Do your research; you'll be rewarded.
In reading the complaints, it seems to me that some folks may not have read, or understood, the directions. I've put this in three times, three different houses. All are successes with no callbacks. Don't try to score and snap precise cuts. Use tin snips. Works like a charm. 1. Acclimate the product. Do not let your installer put it down the same day it arrives. 2. Leave required amount of space at walls. Yes, you'll have to use quarter round after. The floor is SUPPOSED to float. When temperature/moisture changes occur, it will expand/contract at the SEAMS if it can't move away from the walls, hence the gapping some people mention. DO NOT cut it tight to walls and door trim. If you have a lot of furniture or heavy stuff on it, of course it has to contract somewhere (the seams pull apart). If it is tight to the wall, it has to expand somewhere (the seams bunch and lift). 3. Undercut your jambs and door casing. Use a flush-cut handsaw (cheap!), rotozip, or oscillating tool. Place a scrap of flooring snug to the jamb and cut right above it into the jamb/trim so your finished flooring slips under the trim when it's laid. No bunched seams; no gaps at doors. 4. DO NOT lay your quarter round (or baseboard) tight to floor, nor nail through trim into flooring. Don't do this either, with carpet transition strips. Either keep the floor back enough for the nails to miss it, or mark where the nails will go ahead of time and drill out LARGE holes in the flooring before nailing/screwing the transition strips down. The holes under the strips will give room for expansion/contraction of the flooring around the fasteners. 5. READ READ READ the instructions. Watch some videos. Get tips from those who love it. I promise you will, too. Oh, and use the Allure sealer.

        Simple Installation and Looks Good
The wife and I were looking for something to install over the existing vinyl floor in the guest bathroom. We gave this system a try and it worked out well. To get started I removed the toilet and the quarter round base molding. I was able to raise the closet flange that the toilet mounts on enough to slide the new flooring under it. Straight cuts were simple using a framing square and razor knife. I followed the instructions and scored the tiles 3 or 4 times and snapped them off on the edge of the work bench. For the cuts around objects I found that a heavy pair of kitchen shears or tin snips works very well. I did tear a tab off one piece trying to separate them but I was able to use the damaged tile on the last run. I started the installation against the tub so I would have a nice straight seam to caulk. What I learned was, if you don't want to trim the top tab off the first run like the instructions suggest, you can cut tabs from scrap pieces and place them under the cantilevered tab on the first run for support. I was careful to make all the joints tight. I’m proud of the results and my wife is very happy with the way it turned out.

        Floating Floor
I am very happy with the product! It looks great in my kitchen. The only negative feedback that I have is the fact that not all of the tiles were straight. The guy who put the floor down said he had a really hard time and not to go with this product again. But all in all it was installed and looks fantastic. I would order something like this again.
