Applied easily and the finish provided a deep look. Cleanup was more involved, since it was not a water base (which I prefer) but brush did come clean after soaking in paint thinner. I will guage how effective the UV inhibitors are over the course of the products life.

Patiently snad paper it with 120grit and lastly with 100 grit then carefully stained it with golden oak color.
And, lastly this Varathane semi-gloss clear paint!!
And prestoooooo!!!!
The reasult is so so beautiful!!!!

So far, so good
Just applied it to my entry door and it went on smoothly and looks great. But only time will tell if will hold up to the sun and rain.

It is not what I thought
I purchased this product to put on wood to protect the surface from wear & look good. I am using this inside. From the start the product is hard to work with, does not go on evenly. Even after 3 coats there are areas that look like nothing is there & other areas that look fine. After 3 days the surface is not completely dry. This is in 60-80 degree days, 30% humidity. I may have to sand the surface and try something else.

That’s not what we like to hear, Rick. There are a couple of things to keep in mind when applying Varathane Oil-Based Exterior Spar Urethane. It is important to thoroughly stir the can prior to application, but not to shake it. The finish needs to be allowed to dry for a minimum of 2-3 hours before re-coating. Re-coat only when previous coats have dried clear and feel hard. (No longer feels tacky). If any coat has dried more than 24 hours, lightly sand before re-coating to avoid brush marks. A minimum of 3 coats is recommended. If grain raise occurs, sand the surface smooth before final coat.

I Tried the water based...
I first tried the water based formula...JUNK!
Tried this and WOW!!! THAT IS THE COMPANY I KNOW!
Two coats..hard as a rock and as close to epoxy as you will ever see.
$6 dollars in brushes big deal.
I know they say bristle brushes...nope. Have a regular old hair dryer or heat gun ready and foam brushes WILL WORK! Smooth it over one more time and hit it with the heat...bubbles pop and it is glass
