This washer doesn't wash clothes because the water does not fill up over the clothes. It fills up about 3-4 inches under the clothes line. The sensor has not worked properly since we first bought it new at Home Depot. My husband has always used powder detergent. We have to run the washer 2-3 times. Once with detergent on double rinse cycle then another time or 2 on double rinse cycle to get all the powder residue out of the clothes so I know it doesn't wash clothes as it should. I'm washing everything 3 times for one load of clothes. Washer is NOT ENERGY EFFICIENT. Washer is constantly getting off balance when we wash jeans, blankets or sheets and there is no agitator. I've used other HE washers, more high tech and they were great but this one is awful. We bought this machine bc we thought it would be energy efficient, no out of balance bc no agitator, and less electronics for less mechanical failure. This machine continuously FAILING expectations. My only work around is to use the garden hose to finish filling washer. See pic DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had this set for 2 weeks and love it so much that I have rewashed clean clothes just to use it! Crazy, right?! The washer drum is big enough that I could crawl into it! Never been so excited to wash my king size comforter because it actually fits and comes out SO clean. The amount of toddler clothes that will fit in this thing is unreal! With 2 toddlers, that’s triple brownie points. Seriously saving me sooo much time, electricity, and hassle with three small kids and a husband that changes clothes 3-4 times a day!

Isn't it amazing that companies are so determined to update they manufacture things people don't want. We want simple easy to use dependable products. This is not one. IF you want to wash your clothes in about one cup of water, this is the machine for you. Mine did not have a deep water wash button so I didn't even have the ability to use that. I tell people it's like washing your clothes in the amount of water you can spit into the machine. I couldn't even see the water level. Sensing level? Right maybe that gives you 2 cups of water for your towels. Bought me a Maytag with deep water wash and that button is NEVER turned off. I want to get my clothes clean not supposedly save the universe. Every time I had to wash clothes with this Cabrio machine I got mad. True story; my kids took some towels out in the dirt so they were filthy. Load 3 filthy towels in machine. Turn it on to wash. 10 loads later I drag in my water hose to fill up the tub to rinse the towels (remember I had no deep water button & 3 towels aren't a large load). Fill up the tub, turn on machine & it starts to DRAIN. Repeat process. DRAIN again. The stupid machine reacted to the full tub of water by draining instead of rinsing. Who are these people who get these bright ideas and have NO CLUE what they are designing? Picture below of the Whirlpool Cabrio I had.

I was trying to buy a plain washer without any fancy gadgets or needs to buy special detergent. Obviously I didn't read the fine print well. You can use regular detergent but it's best to use HE with is more expensive. And if not, you have a higher chance of smell says so in the book. Even though it doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles it has a sensor. So if the clothes aren't just right it either will not start or takes a long time. Plus for it to be energy saver a single wash takes 30 mins or more. My elderly mother lives with me and always frustrated with the options and she cannot seem to wash clothes without any issues. Plus the machine seems off balance. My old washer last for 20 years and it was a cheap off brand machine. This one I doubt will make it past 2 or 3 years. So disappointed and would have sent it back

Even set on heavy load, this washer does not fill up with water. The push button is cheaply made and difficult to work with. Sometimes the wash cycle gets stuck with clothes still soaking in the water. Other times the clothes are still soaking wet when the washer says it's done. Then I have to hold the button to reset, set to drain and spin, or set to rinse and spin, in order to completely finish the cycle. Frustrating! So disappointing, and this washer sports the "Made in America" sticker on the front!

I bought this model back in October 2020. At first I was pleased with it until I started noticing my clothes on a large load , set to deep water wash just weren’t getting clean enough. I understand we need to conserve water and the necessity for conserving energy. But why put a function or setting (DEEP WATER WASH) on a machine if it isn’t going to do what you want. The deep water wash should be as it states! I can fill my machine to the top with clothes, pretty much most the clothes get wet and yet there’s only 2 1/2 inches of water at the bottom. If this was a tumble washer like those you find at a laundromat I could understand. But it’s not, it’s a top load with a setting for deep water wash. That is what I fully expect to see in my fully loaded washing machine. I was told today by repair the machine senses the weight of the load when fully wet, but that’s not what I bought. I bought a machine with a setting for DEEP WATER WASH. I myself do not wash my clothes until I have a full load, and everything goes in at once. I do not separate colors from darks, whites or delicate. They all wash the same, with same laundry detergent and my special mixture that gets my whites their whitest even in a color mixed wash load. I’m posting pictures of my loads with a ruler showing the water level.

bought in feb 2020. on the second replacement washer in just 3 months! first time within 24 hrs of set up,sensor was bad kept filling with water. replaced with new washer. now on monday 5 10 21 it would not agitate, again filled up to top with water. clothes were still dirty. under manufacturer warranty. repair guy cones today says transmission, hub, steal pole AND sensor board is shot. shocker 3 of those 4 parts are out of stock and I now have to wait up to 3 weeks to see if whirlpool will replace with ANOTHER washer. I bought a 5 yr warranty plan....thankfully. we will see if it takes 3 weeks.

We love this washer!! Glad I didn’t pay attention to the reviews!! Spins every last drop out of load!! From light loads , to bulky towels!! My suggestion is to not overfill, and use less detergent. I love how it weighs the load then knows how much water to add!! Must be a sensor.

I've been holding off on writing a review, but we've had this for 3 months now. Things just don't get clean and it leaves residue on clothes. We finally had to replace our GE washer that was 18 years old, and they are just not the same. Energy and water efficiency mean nothing if clothes aren't clean. I truly do not believe it adds enough water and the agitator doesn't seem to help. I do not dry most of my exercise clothes. Every time they are hung dry I notice white residue all over them. We've tried different wash methods on the washer (deep water, 2 rinses, gentle, jeans, etc.) and different detergent levels to no avail. There is a 2 x rinse option, which doesn't help, but really why should I use something that has to rinse twice when my old one did just fine once. I've attached 2 pictures of what I'm talking about. The red one was hung dry, the black was put in the dryer. I have a white work out shirt that literally didn't even look like it had been cleaned after this last wash cycle. So disappointing. I truly believe they just don't make washers the way they used to. I guess my next steps are to have GE look at it to make sure it's not a defective product. On a side note, Home Depot did everything well. Order and delivery were both a breeze. This is 100% related to the product and nothing to do with Home Depot.

We were delivered a washer with an "agitator" like we had ordered. The "Deep Water" setting is a con. The machine water level does not even reach the agitator blades! Just a con to fool people who prefer agitator action. Should have listened to all the bad review warnings

Love it, very effective and seems to use less water which is great. Much needed & happy so far!

I bought this washing machine and it doesn’t even wash your clothes my old whirlpool washed are clothes very good this model doesn’t get stains out whites come out dingy even with Bleach this photo is how my whites came out after 2 washing cycles called manufacture and Home Depot and won’t refunded me our money back only had washer for 3 weeks now and now we have to go to a laundry mat to wash our clothes.lost $ 625.00 don’t make same mistakes we did

I waited a little while to post a review it is loud it sucks all the water out of my house during washing it takes a long time to do a load but I would say my main concern is do a load and my work shirt is still as dirty as I put it in I wouldn’t recommend buying this washer

This thing is AWFUL! A cycle takes forever to run and still doesn't get clothes cleaned or properly rinsed- even when running two rinse cycles. I just went to add something to a load I have in now and discovered the load wasn't completely submerged and the blanket on top was still dry! Even though it was at least halfway through the rinse cycle at that point. On top of this, Home Depot has proven to be crooks- cheating me out of almost $750 for a dryer I refused on delivery. Worst appliance purchasing experience ever. I will never do business with them again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This washer is such a huge improvement over our previous washer. We're extremely happy with it, and impressed by how quiet it is. The only feature we wish it had is somewhere to pour liquid fabric softener in before starting the load. But that's our fault for not thinking of that when shopping. Overall we're really impressed with this model!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It has better features than any other washer that I checked around in regard to ease of operation and design.

I bought this washing machine less than two months ago: installed, it cost just under $1000. And it’s already broken. It is supposed to be a “smart” machine - meaning that it has some sort of an internal sensor that tells it when to spin, when to drain, etc. all of the push of a button. The problem is, when the button doesn’t work, i’m stuck with an entire washer-full of disgusting dirty water and no way to override it. It’s technically under manufacturer warranty — yet they can’t get out here for another two weeks, so it’s basically a useless $1000 paper weight full of nasty water. Also, if you buy the extended warranty, heads up that it doesn’t kick in until the manufacturer warranty (1 year) is over. Nice little game they have going there. I am so incredibly displeased. I thought whirlpool was supposed to be a quality brand, but I’ve had better luck with knock off brands from China. I would highly recommend avoiding this machine, this manufacturer, and pretty much everything about this situation.

We bought this washing machine 9 months ago. We have had absolutely no problem with it until tonight. We washed a twin size comforter, we heard the machine start to shake. Are washroom is upstairs so when we walked into it we had a surprised waiting for us. The washer somehow shook it self and turned a full 90 degrees from the original position it was sitting. Thanks goodness we were home and the installer hook the lines and drain hose up correctly that it did not come out of its slot. We been very pleased with the washer but a concerned that this occurred and will continue.

I hate this machine. It has torn up and put holes in so many of my clothes. It is noisy and bounces across the floor! I thought it was not supposed to get unbalanced. How does that even happen?? I’ve never had issues with any other washer before. That is the last straw for me. It sounds like a rocket taking off and the entire machine wobbles around the room. O loved my last Whirpool Cabrio washer, but not this one. I have to drain and spin after every load. I have not had it more than 4 months! What a horrible experience, I am SO unhappy!

Unfortunately this machine does a very poor job of removing dirt from clothing, even with the agitator. We've always purchased Whirlpool appliances and this is the first one we have not been completely satisfied with. Our previous top load Whirlpool washer lasted over 20 years and we were very happy with it. If you work outside, or have kids that get dirt on their clothes, look elsewhere. This is not the same technology as the older top load machines with agitators. When we can afford it we will be replacing it.

I absolutely strongly suggest, if possible, to install an agitator! Trust me, if only there was video option then you can see for yourself that the laundry will not get fully or thoroughly proper clean. At least with the agitator will aggressively move laundry!!! This impeller style did not. Also when in spin cycle's the washer bounced around. Definitely make sure to do small load's. Look at the picture with Downy ball and notice wash selection didn't release fabric softener. Not happy at all!!!!!

I’ve washed my converse plenty of times before and never had I had issues like this or with any of my clothes. That is the last straw for me. And the worst part is that EVERYTHING IS ALWAYS ON GENTLE CYCLE. When it’s not on gentle cycle(towels, etc), it sounds like a spaceship taking off and the entire machine wobbles around the room. What a joke, I am SO unhappy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This wasn't anywhere near our first choice but because of the Chinavirus the number of washers available are limited. This was, I think, our 10th try- all the rest were sold out and gone. Compared to the bigger ones (I had wanted a front loader and yet without all those gadgets I don't use and don't want) and the sexier looking ones this little machine looked a bit old-fashioned and was a agitator-less machine and I would have preferred an agitator. But being available was what sold us. Well I like a machine that gets your clothes clean, is easy to use, feels like it's well made, and doesn't have too many of those things you never use. This is that machine. Now that it's in our laundry room not competing with those enormous relatives it looks great. The round click dials are great- easy and sound and feel good to use. The changes for each different load are super easy to determine, and the little dynamo gets our clothes really clean and soft. The things I like also are; there is a soaking function, you can add clothes you forgot after it begins as long as the lock button isn't on, and it has a function for very large bedding and very dirty loads, and has a choce of 1 or 2 rinses. It also has a function if you just want to soak something or deal with very light or small loads. So we lucked into something we wouldn't have gotten and so far it's proven to be exactly what we wanted- we just didn't know it...
