We bought this microwave in May 2019 and I was so happy to switch from Samsung to Whirlpool. I thought we were buying a quality microwave that would last for a long time. We're incredibly disappointed that it quit working today saying the main power relay board has a short. As I was searching online, I found lots of reviews about this microwave failing and Whirlpool not doing a recall. I'm feeling really angry that we already need to replace it and microwaves are even more expensive now. Whirlpool has failed us. Stand behind your products, Whirlpool.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like my microwave. I wish the over-stove light was brighter and I wish the key pad was lit up. Having said that, it's beautiful, simple to use, nice and big inside and my dog loves the ding tune when her food is warm. My appliance repairman says all microwave latches breakdown which is why we had to replace the prior one. Bummer! We'll see how this one goes. All in all a good purchase.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We use our Whirlpool microwave daily and are beyond satisfied. We use the reheat button easily for specific items & steam vegetables daily. It also has a nice jingle when your food is ready.

This unit came new with our house constructed in '20. Recently, while cooking microwave popcorn, I heard a thump from inside the unit. Once popcorn was ready, I opened the door and the glass plate was broken in half symmetrically contoured. No extended warranty so will replace

I only have one complaint, the blue indicator light is very hard to read from a distance. A green light would have been my preference.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this 2 months ago on back order and it did arrive till April 17th but I am glad I waited for it. It is gorgeous and I love the features. It is the perfect black because I have all black appliances and it matches very well.

I’ve only had for 8 months and bought from HD. Today for no reason the clock display turned off. I reset it and it stays on for a few min and then turns off. I unplugged micro for 10 min and plugged back in and reset the clock. Same thing a few min later - no clock display.

It just dropped right in with no additional installation effort needed. Especially love the automatic cooking options included on the front panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great appliance. Previously, we had a 1.9 cf and upgraded to this 2.1 cf. They have added a few new convenience buttons, ie a button for "beverage"...this was previously buried in the "reheat" option. The stainless/black finish matches up nicely with the Whirlpool range. Love it!

From day 1 the humidity sensor has failed; first inconsistently but after owning it for 6 ish months it ALWAYS fails. I should have researched more as this is a constantly reported issue with Whirlpool. So essentially every Program like Reheat, Potato, Popcorn, Soften / Melt ALL FAIL. Other than that it does a good job and has a ton of features…if they just worked!

Sensor cooking gives perfectly heated items, a reheat feature gives us a great warm-up meal, and steam capability is ideal for healthy vegetables, plus many others. Super quiet and speedy. Plus looks great in our kitchen.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So after a few weeks of use, I find the microwave to be decent. No complaints on performance or features. That fan though. Plenty of different speeds and levels of noise but in the end, it really doesn't move much air from the stove top.

Nice clean look with all the functions my family needed. I will say I don’t think it’s a powerful as the one we had but sadly nothing is built like it use to be. We were trying to match the fridge that was just bought prior to use buying our home that’s why we stuck with whirlpool and for the price I am happy with their products so far.

I just received the unit and have not had a chance to test it, but I noticed there are rivets inside the unit. Perhaps this is normal, or this may have been a repaired unit at the factory. The unit seems to be working correctly. I tested it by heating a cup of water. So far so good. I'm just upset about the rivets.

Weeding through the reviews gets to be a challenge these days. Eliminate the whiners, eliminate the "this review was collected as part of a promotion". Had this unit for a few months now. I focused on this unit as it was rated #1 by Consumer Reports. My old Panasonic crapped out after 15 years. This unit was almost identical in fan power and size. Installation: Fairly easy as the duct work and power was already there. The vent metal flap catches easily on the duct boot so don't install it too tight. Two person job to lift into place. It does stick out a little further - I was so focused on the width and weight I didn't realize the depth was an 1 1/2" more. Minor. Pros: Super quiet compared to the old unit - fan and operating noise. Heats quicker and more evenly. Lots of simple options to choose from. Cons: As noted by another review, the light is too far back to be effective. The black touch pad is invisible in poor light and darkness.

This was a slightly larger Whirlpool microwave than the one I had, enough for a shelf which is a good hot plate holder while not in use in the microwave. While I was hoping for the darker stainless steel, it was out of stock. However, this color was a good replacement, as it is more gray than chrome. The larger size was not even noticeable, as it fit into the same place perfectly, which was difficult to know with certainty until it was slid in, which looked surprisingly easy. The controls were very similar to the past model, which flattened the learning curve. While it would have been nice if the controls were backlit, especially the "Light" button, being on a black background, more importantly, they're not likely to be vulnerable to wear or breakage, i.e., they're well made. The handle to open the microware is large and solid, though the underside/grip attracts bits that need cleaning to provide a smooth feel that a different surface or a sticker would alleviate. In summary, this microwave has a short learning curve. is well made, has a large capacity, and performs well.

Model #WMH53521HZ over the range microwave has a single incandescent light bulb located nearly flush to the wall / backsplash that is simply and obviously was so ineffective for illumination that I had to use a flashlight to adjust the knobs on the new Whirlpool glass top range due to the poor illumination. Images were taken from Home Depot reviews. Surprised no one else mentioned this in their comments. Sent back due to defective clock function. ....Got one with two LED "high beams".
