The Wiss model CW5T 5” Electrical Scissors are a quality cutting tool, stout and durable with ample cutting leverage. The grip is comfortable in the hand, and the tool has a useful set of features including two wire stripping notches in the top blade for #19 and #23 wire, a grip zone in the handles for tightening/loosening wire nuts and crimping, and the blades have are serrated on the outside that is ideal for reaming holes. I use the tool primarily for working with CAT5/6 data cable. Works quite well, very handy.

The Crescent Wiss Electricians Scissors works great. It is very strong and sturdy and will last for years. The design of the product was very well engineered and cuts 12 gauge wire very easily. The smaller size is also a plus especially when working in tight spaces like when installing a ceiling 6” can. I highly recommend this item to anyone including electrical professionals, home owners and do it yourselfers.

A good pair of electrician's scissors is a necessary component in any tool kit. These scissors are robustly built and sharp. I cut through RG8X coax like I was cutting thread! I tried it with 12-2 with ground NM cable and had no problem making a clean cut. Everything I tried to cut, cut cleanly and neatly. I've used scissors costing way more than these and these scissors are as good or better. The lock on the side is a bonus to keep the blades sharp while the tool is in the box.

These are compact but very powerful and strong. I cut cat 5 cable easily and then used the half round on the blades to cut and strip one end. Then I stripped a few wires (23 AWG) to be sure it did a good job. It worked great. The blades are thick and strong and sharp. The edges of the blade are serrated and the handles are comfortable for even my large hands. I tried the wire nut feature and found it difficult on small ones but caught it on one edge and it worked great. See photo. I like the small size yet very sharp and strong tool. I highly recommend this product.

These scissors are pretty comfortable and seem to have many uses. Nice, wide area big enough for fairly moderate gloves to be utilized while using these. They come with a nice coating which seems sturdy initially, but time will tell. While I was first using these to test out, it cut through coax without a problem. I had left them outside and needed some scissors in my garden. Being the lazy individual I am, I grabbed these scissors as they were the closest thing around. They ended up worked out great and I've since found all kinds of unintended garden uses. I have used these to cut bamboo stakes effortlessly, snip tie wire as well as open the occasional plastic clam shell package. They have served me as a general utility scissor and I'm pleased so far, ev n if I'm not using these as originally intended.

This is a review for the Crescent Wiss Electrician/Data Scissors. These are very handy scissors. They are compact in size but perform very well. The are left or right handed. A small warning. If you have very large hands these scissor may not fit your hand well. The blades are hardened steel and had no problem cutting right thru copper romex & network cable. The scissors also have a grip area so you can tighten/loosen wire nuts and crimp wire termination caps. The blades are serrated on one side to prevent slipping while cutting wire. There are 2 wire stipping notches that are cut into the upper blade. I did not have the best of luck using them. This is definitely not a deal breaker in any way. We have been installing a hardware home network using CAT6. These Wiss 5in scissors have been indispensable during this project!

I received my Wiss 5” Heavy Duty Titanium coated stainless steel Electrical Scissors. They have a nice compact design for cutting cable and wire, stripping 19 or 23 AWG wire and or for twisting wire nuts on or off with the built-in grip zone. Also, the outer edge of the blades come serrated for reaming conduit. I got to try out my new Wiss 5” Electrical Scissors on my latest Harry-Homeowner project installing a home security system. They were just the right size for handling and working with the control wiring in both the alarm panel and the keypads. Note: These are comfortable to work with whether you are right or left handed.

Stripping and cutting wires seems to rough up my hands pretty bad, especially when cutters only make partial cuts. I tend to slam my knuckles when the sheathing finally separates. That is not a problem with these scissors, you won't question if the cut was successful, it slices right through and the casing slides off effortlessly. The design is ideal with it's short handle and blade it fits in smaller spaces without compromising durability. The handle is convenient and comfortable in your hand.

I received the Wiss 5 in. Electrician/Data Cable Electrical Scissors with titanium coated steel blades, these scissors are very handy for a lot of jobs. They work great for cutting wire or data cable to length, stripping sheeting off romex or stripping the sheeting off heavy gage wire. They also have two small cut outs on top blade for 19 and 23 gage wire stripping.  The outside of the blades are serrated and can be used to ream conduit. You also have a grip zone between the handles for crimping or tightening wire nuts. And they are made to work right or left handed.

These are typical datacomm snips with some nice improvements. The blades are the same size, the wire stripping notches are the same and the basic functions are typical. The handles are larger than my traditional snips, however, which I like a lot. Instead of gripping the outside of them, I can actually get my fingers into the handles and open the snips properly. They also open and close smoothly. The large groove in the blade grips CAT-6 cable well and makes cuts easy. I also use the same cutting groove for stripping the insulation off the outside of the cable. The blades are sharp, however. One quick turn with the cable cutter around the jacket is enough to score it so it can be twisted / flexed off. Two turns cut through the outside jacket and the insulation around the twisted pairs inside. The "grip zones" on the handles are only marginally helpful. I wasn't able to grip much, and I just didn't really see the point. Other than that one rather useless feature, these are great snips. Better than my old snips.

This is a tool that once used is handier than perhaps you thought it might be. The wire strippers are great when you happen to be working with the right gauge wire to get the use from them. And the material and build of the scissors make them perfect for cutting the same wire they are stripping. For my application they are just the thing. I use that size wire a lot. The large handles and small blades give you plenty of torque on the cut keeping the effort minimal. When building something like a wiring harness this can help on the hand fatigue especailly if you are starting to experience a little arthritis in the hands like I am. You take all the help you can get. The grippers are a nice feature but I personally don't use that a lot since I have gone to using wago lever nuts for a number of things now. (A lot of my wiring is in a lab type environment or on home hobby projects)

This Crescent Wiss electrician/data scissor is a quality tool. It has comfortable grips with a “grip zone” between the handles to hold things tight with it while you work the object with the other hand, serrated outside edges for reaming, and an integrated cable cutter. It also has two integrated wire strippers for 19 AWG and 23 AWG. The scissors are titanium coated 3X harder than steel.

Whoa! I almost didn't get to review these neat little scissors. My wife saw these and pretty much all but confiscated them. They are that nice. In the hand, you get this tight precision feel that you expect from a professional tool. Cut with confidence - you don't have to worry about these things mangling anything you are going to cut. Really well thought out for a pair of scissors. First theres the scissors - everybody gets that. Then in the back of the jaws you have a cable cutter that cuts cleanly. Wire strippers are built into the top blade for 18-23 awg. The thick edge of the blade is serated for reaming conduit. There is a grip area between the handles which I am sure will come in handy some day. And I just noticed they are set up for lefties as well. Nice little pair of scissors - just make sure you pick up a second pair!

My go to snips, the updated handles take some getting used to. Sharp enough to get the job done, the notch helps with cutting cables one handed.

Sharp and last a decent amount of time (6-12 months) before they really dull out. I'm a low voltage electrician and use them daily and can cut through a lot. These are my go to for the price.
