Looks great as a fencing rail. The plastic coating is a slip on sleeve. It is not sprayed on or otherwise bonded to the wood. I tried contacting the manufacture about purchasing additional end caps and no one responded. If you cut this into 2 pieces you will not have end caps to cover everything. The end cap slips on but stays in place well.

I thought the Polymer would have been treated into the wood, more of a solid substance. Instead it is just wrapped with Polymer. Wish the end caps could be sealed a lot tighter then they do. Using them for a bar top outside on my deck, needed the 2" thickness. Hope the Polymer holds up if so it's g
