the flooring is vinyl, essentially waterproof. the molding is made of mdf which gets destroyed by water or moisture. The title of the molding is "vinyl quarter round molding." Its simply a poor quality material and should not be used in conjunction with vinyl flooring. The "vinyl" title is inaccurate. the only reason i bought it is because it matched the floor. I should have purchased unfinished wood and stained it to match.

Cons poor quality mdf not vinyl

Very happy with this flooring. It was reasonably easy to put it together carefully without any spaces between the pieces. It looks very, very good. It feels very very good, It has a nice texture, and the surface seems to be impervious to ordinary spills and dropped food. I have only had it two months, but it looks very nice, and is a joy to clean. We did watch numerous you tube videos about putting down vinyl strip flooring, and we carefully planned the seams. But the molding was too short for the space and not worth the extra expense to buy a whole piece for the two feet extra that was needed. The molding also looks like a glued layer of printed material on top of the quarter round, so I returned it.
