Recycling at The Home Depot

Did you know?

Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, CFLs, and lead acid batteries for recycling.

Home Depot stores sent approximately 5.3 million pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This has helped the planet by preserving over 63,500 trees, keeping over 16,000 trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saving over 50 million gallons of water, and conserving 7.8 million kilowatt hours of electricity.

LED lights in your local store cut down energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives like solar and wind.

The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates. This commitment extends beyond our stores to our communities and the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our eco actions.

Great Selection in the garden area for Feb 2022
I loved the customer service that I was given from each employee that day. 3 of them. The selection was great and I found a great variety of plants to give as gifts and at a very good price too. Will be coming back in March & April 2022. Thank you!!

Its my Home depot since we live out in the country, and am disappointed this time around
Bought this Edger to replace the trimmer head on My Ryobi, Live half hour away due to distance and always heavy traffic getting close to my Home Depot. Come to find out when I open the box it was a return and was missing parts. Why was this even back in the shelf? I didn't go to Home Depot for a used Edger head and missing parts for the price of a new one. Yes, I could return but it takes me an hour round trip when I go to Home Depot and have kids that make it a hassle to try to come to Home Depot. Disappointed in Returns saying this was fine to put back on the shelf
CSRs and managers are extremely inept
I went in for a refund and spent over an hour of my time trying to get a refund back on my credit card. During this time eventhough it was very hot in the store, I was never offered a water or a seat to sit on. A manager did get a water and made the comment there were none left. My refund was not put on my credit card but is being mailed to me which will take over 3 weeks. The refund was short $150 which is what caused the issue. The $150 was eventually given to me as cash. The whole refund was already approved by the Home Depot escalation team. It took 2 phone calls, 4 CSRs and 2 managers to get me my whole refund.
            Service excellence
The service I receive from the culebra store is excellent. As well as finding what I need. The employee often stays with me until I have what I need or an answer why it’s not available. Also checking an other Home Depot for an out of stock item.

              Great store and great employees
I came today to look at the appliances. This store has a great selection but what was better than the selection was the professionalism, patience, and knowledge that an employee by the name of Noah had. He made my visit a great one and I appreciate his help today. Thank you.

Very poor customer service at checkout
Two young female employees at self service checkout were unfriendly, unhelpful and are too bothered to stop their socializing with one another to help a customer. They are paid to provide service. Shameful
Item Search at Home Depot Website
If you need to find a product search it online before you head there because staff don't really help, you have to chase after them and they usually avoid you. They all do that; like they are all trained that way. If it only happens to me, then they are discriminating...
                    Amazing employee help!
Had trouble finding product I needed. After asking several employees Gustavo asked if I needed help. Was able to not only locate the correct item I needed but assisted in product recommendations for what we were needing. Also helped us get the lawnmower we came for after we were about to leave without it cause we were unsure if it would work with our Ryobi products at home. Very knowledgeable and friendly.
