A glowing candle or home fragrance can bring warmth and freshness to your home, and help improve your mood. Choose a soft glow or pleasant scent to create an oasis in any room. Here are some guidelines for choosing home scents that will keep your surroundings inviting.

Candles 

Scented candles come in a variety of fragrances, including:

● Fruity. Fruity candles are usually infused with citrus notes. You can also find scents like apple, pear and coconut. Add fruity candles to a kitchen, living room or bathroom for a fresh aroma.
● Floral. Flowery candles are commonly infused with fragrances of rose or lavender. They work well on bathroom vanities.
● Spicy. Soothing scents like cinnamon and pumpkin spice are ideal for the kitchen. Place one on the stove for a warm and cozy vibe.
● Woody. Fragrances like sandalwood and fig are considered more masculine than other scents. They provide a pleasant, earthy fragrance for the living room, den or home office.

Place pillar candles in candle holders on the mantle, or line your bookshelves with votive candles in glass jars. A crystal candle holder imparts a refined look to a dining table. Use candle wall sconces to decorate a hallway or flank the headboard in your master bedroom.

Candle Warmers and Diffusers 

Candle warmers are a no-hassle alternative to traditional candles. They heat scented candle wax to release the fragrance without burning a wick. A flickering fragrance warmer gives the soothing illusion of a traditional scented candle.

Aroma diffusers disperse the aroma of fragrance oils. The oils are broken down into microscopic particles that remain suspended in the air for hours. Diffusers are great a way to keep a room filled with a light fragrance—just turn them on and forget about them.

Many oils, such as lavender, lemongrass and peppermint, are believed to provide health benefits as aromatherapy. Look for an essential oil diffuser with the option of continuous or intermittent modes.
