Frequently Asked Questions About Your Store

Does The Home Depot have a storage sale in 2026?

The Home Depot Garage Storage Sale is here, so it's time to get shopping. From workbenches to tool chests, we've got deals on what you want for a neatly arranged garage. Shop the sales online or in-store from 6/22/26–8/18/26, and make this the year you organize the shed, garage, and basement.

What do I do to prepare my home for scorching summer temps?

Be certain your home is ready for summer temperatures by replacing or repairing faulty components of your home and hardscaping. On your home's exterior, inspect roof shingles or metal roofs for rust or damage that may let water leak inside. Keep gutters clear and functional to keep rain overflow from entering your home when storms arrive. Chimney caps and vinyl siding should be swapped out if they're badly weathered. Also, check cinder blocks and brick for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. If water gets in the crevices, you could be looking at trouble.

What's your selection of moving boxes like?

Pick up an assortment of moving boxes to make your move easier. We've got the sizes you've been searching for, including specialty ones like TV and wardrobe boxes. Cushion your items with bubble cushion and moving blankets to ensure your belongings make it safely. Look into our moving truck rentals, too, and take care of your DIY move needs in one place.

Should I get an inverter generator or a portable generator?

Having a generator means you're prepared year-round for whatever circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether dealing with severe thunderstorms or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy electricity after the elements take it out. When searching for generators for sale, remember that inverter generators are more expensive than portable generators, but they're also quieter and cleaner. For safety purposes, always run your generators outside, away from windows and doors.

What are the benefits of doorbell cameras?

Enjoy peace of mind, safety, and privacy with a wired or wireless doorbell camera. No more peeking through a peephole when you can see human or animal visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you speak to whoever is at the door via your phone, a useful interaction for delivery people or to scare off would-be porch pirates. Most cameras integrate with your smart home app or hub to give you easy and flexible accessibility. Save video clips for future reference and worry less with more control.

Which project is featured at the free Kids Workshop?

Stop by the Kids Workshop to encourage future craftspeople and builders! Give your children a taste of the joy of building with this rocket game. Constructing a wooden spaceship toy is a great way to sharpen fine motor skills, creativity, and listening abilities. This cute kids' project is happening on 8/1/2026, from 9 a.m. to noon or while supplies last.

Outstanding Staff!
Then team of John, Jo, and especially Luara did an outstanding job of getting me 2 of the Husky 10" Mini 2-Drawer Tool Box (Army Green). If you don't see what you are looking for, just ask and they will do their best to get it for you.

Home Depot,My dependable ally in businesss.
I have been purchasing product from this store from day one when it opened around 2000/2001. I’ve come being acquainted with so many of the employees there over time and consider them as friends at my mist frequented location. I don’t know how I managed without it prior to that timeframe. It’s open far longer than any of the electrical supply houses I purchase from. It meets many of my urgent last minute and sometimes unpredictable needs. Thank you for being here for us!

I had two great people help me today, Stephanie and Daryl. Both seemed to have great knowledge of my needs and how to solve my issue and took me to what I needed.

                Great service!
Several people greeted me for no other reason than I walked by them. One man saw me looking at somethiing and asked to help me and was very helpful. The second time that has happened at this store. The man who helped me load gravel in my car was very nice and cheerful. It was a pleasant shopping experience!

My old phone number is linked to my current email and the store says there is nothing they can do about it.
The Trussville store has a customer who periodically rents equipment and buys merchandise in my name. I think they give my old cell phone number, and Home Depot sends me emails about each rental and quote because my current email is connected to the former phone number. Fortunately the person does pay with their own visa credit card or at least not mine. There is no telling if it is actually a legitimate credit card or whether the person is purposely concealing their identity for these transactions. Last year I called and complained directly to the store and spoke with a customer service person and some manager on duty who said there was nothing he could do. Whatever. There is nothing I can do other than rate you 1 star then. Maybe someone at corporate will read this and fix it as I would rather not be connected to this situation.

Great Store Experience — Rental Department Knocked It Out of the Park!
Overall a great visit to Home Depot. The store was well-stocked, easy to navigate, and had exactly what I needed. The highlight of my trip was the rental department. The checkout process was seamless and the employees there were genuinely eager to help. You could tell they took pride in what they do — no waiting around, no hassle, just a smooth experience from start to finish. One area for improvement — I stopped by the discounted paint section and asked a staff member if a 1-gallon can might be reduced further. The response was polite but stopped at ‘I don’t set the prices, the managers do.’ While true, a little more initiative — like offering to check with a manager — would have made a big difference. Small moment, but it’s those extra steps that turn a good experience into a great one. This is why Home Depot is still my go-to for home improvement needs. The rental team set a great example of what customer service looks like — hopefully that energy spreads to the rest of the store. Will definitely be back!
