What should I bring when moving into my college dorm?
Come see us for your dorm essentials. Use storage containers or moving boxes to transport your belongings, and be ready for residual dirt with cleaning supplies and disinfecting wipes. Bring a tub of spackling to fill old nail holes and Command adhesive hooks to hang string lights and wall art. Make the room your own with wall decals and area rugs. Extension cords and power strips let you place lamps, microwaves, and mini refrigerators where you need them. If you didn't get a new school backpack yet, we've got those, too. Be prepared to head back to college with useful products from your local Home Depot.
What home repairs should I make before summer storms hit?
Be confident your home is equipped for summertime temperatures by replacing faulty components of your hardscaping and home. Check cinder blocks and bricks for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. If water gets inside the crevices, you could be looking at trouble. On the exterior of your home, inspect roof shingles or metal roofing for rust or damage that may let water leak inside. Keep gutters functional and clear to prevent water overflow from seeping beneath your shingles when storms arrive. Lastly, chimney caps and vinyl siding should be swapped out if they're badly weathered.
What kinds of moving boxes do you have?
Make storage or moving easier by picking up an assortment of moving boxes. We've got the sizes you're searching for, including specialty ones like wardrobe and TV boxes. Cushion your items with bubble cushion and moving blankets to ensure your belongings make it to your next location safely. Don't forget to check out our moving truck rentals if you need those, too.
Should I get a portable generator or an inverter generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared year-round for any circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether dealing with severe thunderstorms or tornados, a portable generator lets you enjoy electricity after the elements take it out. When searching for generators for sale, remember that inverter generators cost more than portable generators, but they're also quieter and cleaner. Always run your generators outdoors, away from windows and doors, for safety purposes.
Do you have doorbell cameras?
Enjoy safety, peace of mind, and privacy with a wired or wireless doorbell camera. Stop peeking through a window or peephole when you can see human or animal visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you talk to whoever is on your doorstep via your phone, a useful interaction to scare off potential porch pirates or talk to delivery people. Many cameras integrate with your smart home app or hub to give you easy accessibility. Save video clips for future reference as needed.
