Frequently Asked Questions About Your Store

Are storage bins part of the Garage Storage Sale?

Home Depot Garage Storage Savings are here, so start shopping now. From garage bundles to storage bins, we've got deals on what you want for a clean and neatly arranged garage. Shop the sales online or in-store from June 22nd through August 18th, and make this the summer you clean out the garage and basement.

What should I bring to personalize my dorm?

Come see us for your dorm essentials. Get storage containers or moving boxes to transport your belongings, and be ready with cleaning wipes and other cleaning products. Bring a tub of spackle to fill old nail holes and Command adhesive hooks to hang string lights and wall art. Make the room your own with area rugs and wall decals. Extension cords and power strips let you place lamps, microwaves, and mini refrigerators where you need them. If you didn't get a new school backpack yet, we've got those, too. Be prepared to head back to college with helpful products from your local Home Depot.

How can I prepare my home for summer temps?

Be certain your home is equipped for summertime temperatures by repairing faulty components of your hardscaping and home. Check cinder blocks and brick for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. On the outside of your house, examine roof shingles or metal roofs for damage or rust that could let water in. Keep gutters fully functional to keep rain overflow from backing up into your home when storms arrive. Lastly, chimney caps and vinyl siding should be changed out if they're in poor condition.

Do you have moving boxes?

Make storage or moving easier by picking up a mix of moving boxes. We've got the sizes you want, including specialty ones like wardrobe and TV boxes. Cushion your items with bubble cushion and moving blankets to ensure your belongings make it to your next location safely. Remember to check out our moving truck rentals if you need those, too.

Do I need a generator?

Enjoy electricity in your home even after severe storms and wind take it out. We've got the options you need when searching for a generator for sale. Inverter generators are quieter and cleaner than traditional portable generators. They'll adjust to the required load, making less noise when they create less power. When searching for generators, keep in mind that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. Always run your generators outside, away from windows and doors, for safety purposes.

What are the benefits of doorbell cameras?

Enjoy peace of mind, safety, and privacy with a wired or wireless doorbell camera. Stop peeking through a peephole or window when you can watch animal or human visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you talk to whoever is on your doorstep via your phone, a useful interaction to scare off potential porch pirates or talk to delivery people. Several cameras integrate with your smart home app or hub to give you flexible and easy accessibility. Choose to save video clips for future reference as it suits you.

What will the next free Kids Workshop be?

Stop by the Kids Workshop to encourage future builders and craftspeople! Introduce your children to the joys of building with this rocket game. Constructing a wooden spaceship toy is a great way to sharpen fine motor skills, creativity, and listening abilities. This cute kids' project is happening on August 1st, from 9 a.m. to noon or while supplies last.

Easy to find with other great stores nearby
Home Depot is always a fun shopping experiece and easy to get to. And, there are other great stores nearby. It's a great shopping center. I needed a hand held vacume. Twice along the way, an employee asked if they could assist and directed me to the isle that I needed. The choices made me pause to explore my options. Within 10 minutes I made my choice and headed to checkout, only to be distracted by other inspiritations like paint colors and and the garden department.

Ordered from the store deck and ash
      — I ordered a gallon of deck wash expecting next-day delivery, but it never arrived. When I called about a week later, the rep was great and promised a refund plus a gift card for the hassle. A week after that, I checked in again and was pointed to my local Home Depot, where the cashier cheerfully let me know the request had gone all the way to corporate — for $12.90! Everyone I dealt with was friendly and helpful the whole way through. Eventually the refund check showed up (still waiting on that gift card!). Lesson learned: next time I’ll just have it shipped to the store instead of my house.

        Curbside is a sick joke
Last 3 times I've had curbside, I've waited an average of 25-35 minutes and 2 out of those 3 times I had to go in and get it myself........horrible experience and seriously reconsidering shopping there under any circumstances

            I was seen
Mike mgr and Makayla were awesome. Without knowing my past, they helped me feel seen and helped give me choices. It was super nice not to feel controlled and free to choose things that pleased me. For a bit I was feeling paralyzed by so many choices, but Mike told me that was just normal. Little did he know, for the first time in 14 years, I was able to make major home project decisions without fearing for my safety!!! Even a trip to Home Depot helped me regain my confidence and heal. Thank you.

Male worker in building section was rude and abrupt. Not helpful at all.
For the second time we ran into the same male worker in the building section. He was very rude and abrupt. He was in a big hurry, too busy to help us. He would spend less than 5 seconds at a time with us, mostly making derogatory statements about our project. He would not look at us when he was speaking. Maybe he has a personality disorder. He was not service oriented.

                Great service.
We needed a new propane grill and a weed eater. Everything from start of looking at products. To loading our purchase. Was top notch customer service. One of the best experiences we have had in while.

                    Best Home Depot in MN
I’ve shopped at Home Depots in several different states, and I can honestly say the staff at the Rochester location (3050 41st St NW) is the absolute best. Every time I walk in, the associates are consistently friendly and genuinely helpful. Whether I’m looking for something specific in the Garden Center or need a hand at the Pro Desk, the service here stands out. It’s rare to find a team that is this well-coordinated and attentive—they really make the home improvement process much smoother. Highly recommend this location if you want a hassle-free experience with a staff that actually knows their stuff!
