What college dorm essentials should I get?
We have all your college dorm essentials. Utilize our storage containers or moving boxes to transport your belongings, and be ready with cleaning supplies and disinfecting wipes. Bring a tub of spackling to fill old nail holes and Command adhesive hooks to hang string lights. Make the room your own with area rugs and wall decals. Extension cords and power strips let you place lamps, microwaves, and mini refrigerators where you need them. If you didn't get a new school backpack yet, we've got those, too. Be prepared to head to college with helpful products from your local Home Depot.
What home repairs should I make before summer storms hit?
Be confident your home is equipped for summertime temps by repairing faulty parts of your hardscaping. If water gets in the cracks, you could be dealing with mold. Check brick and cinder blocks for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces. On your house's exterior, inspect roof shingles or metal roofing for rust or damage that might let water in. Keep gutters clear of debris to prevent overflow from backing up into your home when storms arrive. Lastly, vinyl siding and chimney caps should be swapped out if they're in poor condition.
What's your selection of moving boxes like?
Pick up a mix of moving boxes to make storage and moving easier. We've got the sizes you need, including specialty ones like TV and wardrobe boxes. Cushion any and all items with bubble cushion and moving blankets to ensure your belongings make it safely. Look into our moving truck rentals, too, and take care of your DIY move needs in one place.
Should I get a portable generator or an inverter generator?
Enjoy power in your home even after severe storms take it out. We've got the options you need when searching for a generator for sale. Inverter generators are quieter and cleaner than traditional portable generators. They adjust to whatever power load is requested. This means they'll make less noise in times of lesser demand. When searching for generators, keep in mind that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. Always run your generators outside, away from windows and doors, for safety purposes.
Do you have wired or wireless doorbell cameras?
Enjoy privacy, safety, and peace of mind with a wired or wireless doorbell camera. Stop peeking through a peephole or window when you can watch animal or human visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you chat remotely via your phone, a useful interaction to scare off potential porch pirates or talk to delivery people. Most cameras integrate with your smart home hub or app to give you flexible accessibility. Choose to save video clips for future reference and worry less with more control.
When is the Home Depot Kids Workshop in August?
Stop by for the Kids Workshop from 9–noon on 8/1/2026. Introduce your children to the joys of building with this cute pint-sized rocket game. Building this wooden spaceship toy is a great way to sharpen listening abilities, fine motor skills, and creativity. Team up with your kids to make this quick craft while supplies last. The best part is launching the rocket, so leave some time to send your rocketship into space!
