Has COVID-19 impacted The Home Depot store hours?
We're temporarily adjusting store hours to better serve customers and communities in response to COVID-19. Please check your local store for the most current operating hours.

What additional precautions is The Home Depot taking in light of COVID-19?
The adjusted hours give stores the ability to staff appropriately and provide additional time to restock shelves and perform cleaning. As part of our normal practice, our stores and other facilities are cleaned and sanitized daily. Following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we've increased the frequency of cleaning and general hygiene maintenance in stores and other locations. We've also stepped up our efforts to disinfect high-traffic and high-touch areas like self-checkout, door handles, and bathrooms, as well as posting signage about handwashing and other preventative actions.
We're promoting social distancing in our stores and distribution centers, which includes stores limiting the number of customers inside at any given time. In addition to training our associates on social distancing, we've placed distancing markers at some of our checkout counters and are making overhead announcements on our store PA systems asking customers to practice social distancing.

It would seem that the employees have one job each to do. If you need to find something and you catch an employee, it seems that they will not trying to help you rather they will try to find someone else to help you. This is not good customer service retail practice. Even if you do not know for not familiar with an area or look things up, you could take the customer to the section they need to go and or the Intranet handheld device to see where these things are. Also it would seem that specific employees at the cash register do not know that there is a military discount. One cashier alt right denied that there was even a military discount saying that maybe other stores gave a military discount. I assured her that I had been given a military discount with an identification would she check the computer since I am listed in the database; she refused to do that. Apparently very ignorant about even to try and find out if there really was a discount. When I left the store I caught another employee and asked him why wasn't there a military discount. He informed me that there was a military discount, especially during holidays. I told him the cashier apparently is ignorant of this fact and she flatly denied that there was a military discount. I asked him to inform management that the cashier needs to know this fact/policy. I'm afraid I did not have faith that this employee would even do that.

I’m an associate but, I must say every time I shop I always have a pleasant shopping experience! I’m treated as though I’m a customer that they do not know! Making sure I get everything I need with a smile! Cashiers excluded! That’s about every week!
