What additional precautions is The Home Depot taking in light of COVID-19?
The adjusted hours give stores the ability to staff appropriately and provide additional time to restock shelves and perform cleaning. As part of our normal practice, our stores and other facilities are cleaned and sanitized daily. Following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we've increased the frequency of cleaning and general hygiene maintenance in stores and other locations. We've also stepped up our efforts to disinfect high-traffic and high-touch areas like self-checkout, door handles, and bathrooms, as well as posting signage about handwashing and other preventative actions.
We're promoting social distancing in our stores and distribution centers, which includes stores limiting the number of customers inside at any given time. In addition to training our associates on social distancing, we've placed distancing markers at some of our checkout counters and are making overhead announcements on our store PA systems asking customers to practice social distancing.

Is The Home Depot St Pete hiring?
As an essential retailer, we're hiring seasonal associates in Customer Service/Sales, Store Support, Freight, and Merchandising. We’re taking measures to keep our associates and customers safe, including providing face coverings and gloves, limiting the number of customers in stores at one time, promoting social and physical distancing practices, and implementing additional cleaning measures to sanitize facilities. Apply now. The Home Depot® is an Equal Opportunity/M/F/Vet/Disabled Employer.

Employees not educated where things are, one employee not wearing a mask, a black man, would not help me at all. Two other employees sent me to the wrong place. I finally got my material, I needed it cut, I got my material and the place to have it cut. he rudely told me this piece had to be cut on the other isle. I gave him the measurements, he asked me three times if that was correct. I said yes. I was wondering why he asked me that, would not bring the wrong measurements. He then told me there was a easier way. My anxiety was terrible, I left crying. Men treat women like we know nothing. I was on a time limit left my husband at home who has dementia. I thought it would just take a few minutes instead over a hour. You were very understaffed. It used to be nice to come in there, not anymore. I will not recommend this Home Depot to any of my friends.

It would seem that the employees have one job each to do. If you need to find something and you catch an employee, it seems that they will not trying to help you rather they will try to find someone else to help you. This is not good customer service retail practice. Even if you do not know for not familiar with an area or look things up, you could take the customer to the section they need to go and or the Intranet handheld device to see where these things are. Also it would seem that specific employees at the cash register do not know that there is a military discount. One cashier alt right denied that there was even a military discount saying that maybe other stores gave a military discount. I assured her that I had been given a military discount with an identification would she check the computer since I am listed in the database; she refused to do that. Apparently very ignorant about even to try and find out if there really was a discount. When I left the store I caught another employee and asked him why wasn't there a military discount. He informed me that there was a military discount, especially during holidays. I told him the cashier apparently is ignorant of this fact and she flatly denied that there was a military discount. I asked him to inform management that the cashier needs to know this fact/policy. I'm afraid I did not have faith that this employee would even do that.
