Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, CFLs, and lead acid batteries for recycling.
Home Depot stores sent approximately 5.3 million pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This has helped the planet by preserving over 63,500 trees, keeping over 16,000 trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saving over 50 million gallons of water, and conserving 7.8 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
Since 2010, we have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to our communities, as well as the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our eco actions.

How do I find a good Christmas tree that's real?
Look for vibrantly green trees that appear healthy. A good quality real Christmas tree should keep the majority of its needles when you shake it, and the needles shouldn't look dry, brown, or patchy. Also, be sure to check that your tree is free of disease and insects, so examine any holes or knots in the wood carefully. We're your source for choosing the best real Christmas tree for your home.
Does The Home Depot have tailgating supplies?
We carry tailgating accessories so you can find what you need before the big game. Whether you're tailgating in the parking lot of the stadium or at home, remember to bring plenty of food and tailgating games. Check out our small grills, too. Shop online on our mobile app or drop by in person to see some tailgating gear at the store.
Does my local Home Depot still offer Kids Workshops?
Yes, the Biloxi store offers in-person Kids Workshops. These free in-store events take place every first Saturday of the month between 9am and noon. Registration for workshops is now available online. We have a new kit pack every month to keep your little doer engaged. Included in the kits are all necessary craft materials, as well as instructions, stickers, an apron pin, a certificate of achievement, and a Discovery Education extension activity. Paint and all other required tools are provided at the event. Kits may be ordered online at our Kids Projects Activities page or picked up in-store if you prefer to participate in the workshop from home. Call us or visit our customer service counter to order your kit.
How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Gift cards to The Home Depot are a popular choice for the holidays, housewarming parties, and birthdays. DIYers know they're fun to give and to receive. They can be purchased online at homedepot.com or in our stores. If you receive a gift card, you can check your gift card balance online or visit your local Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you. Redeem our gift cards for online or in-store shopping, all with no additional fees.
